It turned out to be a tire pressure issue -- guess it will turn right if that front tire is 15 lbs low. Doh! I still have a lot to learn about sportscars

Thanks everyone for the suggestions.

Hey, Tillman. I am the one with the blue Spyder. I remember talking to you at Norwoods. Stop by the shop sometime.

Tillman, FYI it is federal law for every car in the U.S. to pull to the right slightly. The reason being, if any driver were to fall asleep at the wheel they would rather have the car go off the road (pull to the right) rather than cross over the center (pull to the left) causing a head on collision. Most of the general public is unaware of this. How bad is your pull? It should pull off the highway at 55mph at about 1/8 mile. Just looking out for your pocket book.

Jano,

Do you have a blue 348 spyder? If so, I think I've seen you around the area and met you at the Dyno Day at Norwood's last April. Nice car you have there.

I met your brother today, and will be in touch.

Mitch, thanks for the clarification on the different elements.

When it comes to alignment, the devil is in what work actually gets accomplished.

If you start by setting (restting) the ride height, adjust the corner weighting, than caster, camber and toe on each end--this job is a real 4 hour proposition. Add in bump steer adjustment (measure and correct) and its a real 6 hours of work. {assuming you have the right tools for the job}

If you drive it onto an alignment rack, and have the 4 wheels pointed in the right general direction, then its only a 1/2 to 1 hour job (depending upon how many pannels you have to remove from under the car.)

So are you looking to get the wheels pointed in the right general direction, or do you want it to handle like the factory designated?

I'm new to this board; found out about it through Dan Marlett. Glad to see there is a group that gets together and exchanges information about their Ferraris.

My four brothers and I own a body shop and a tire and alignment shop. Both are equipped to work on Ferraris. We're located in Lewisville. Feel free to email or call: 4M Body Works 972-219-0349, 4M Tire and Alignment 972-436-7250.

Most shops sublet alignments out if they are not set up for it. With my body shop, I send Mercedes out to a friend of mine that charges $230 average for 4 wheel alignments. He only works on Benz, nothing else. The dealer will cost $300.00 or more to it correctly. I've paid about $100 for performance cars that are lowered & need camber & caster settings. Most insurance companies will only want to pay out $59.99 from some dingus huckleberry at Firestone. With Ferrari, I haven't a clue on what "the dealer charge$" but I'm sure it's not cheap. I'm wondering if they just take an unfair advantage of their customers?

When my car was at Norwoods for its 30k, James was going to take my car for an alignment as he didn't do them onsite. I didn't ask who does them for him, but give him a call.

Tillman...

NTB on Arapaho near Plano Road used to do all the alignments for Ferrari of Dallas. I had a 355 done there as well and they did a great job for me.

Rodney, can you email me off line and provide me with your friend's phone or email? I'd like to get his feedback when the car is finished. 50% off FoH could be $1500 less than Norwood. THX!

They are in fact doing a 30K for my friend in Houston on his 328 as I type. He drove the car to Dallas to get it done. He saved about 50% of the cost of FOH.

Thanks, I'll check out the suggestions in this thread.

The first thing I'm going to do is check tire pressure, though. With the temperature changes, I would suspect that the pressures are out of adjustment.

Rodney, I've heard many good things about Shadetree Enginetrics. I also understand his prices are very reasonable. Would you let this guy do a 30K on your car (including belts)?

I don't think Norwood does alignments, do they? At least James will know where to go if they don't have a rack.

I would ask James advice. Star tire did an awesome job on my race car and they're Ferrari friendly because of their experience refinishing wheels.

My car has a very slight push to the right. Does anyone have a recommendation for a Ferrari-friendly place to get an alignment in the MetroMess?

Thanks
