I have a 1994 348 Spider, The only time it has been driven in the rain was briefly on thanksgining and there was not one leak.

Rob and I both have Targas, no experience with Spyders. I've heard horror stories of 348's with leaking tops.

I drove mine 90 miles in 'driving' rain last July, not a drop got inside.

328 is perfectly tight, I've been in a couple down pours.

No new info, I have a question of my own. How water tight are the Spyder tops? If I get one, it will be driven daily so it will need to seal against Texas thunderstorms. And how does the sealing compare to the targas?

I'm just guessing based on how many 328's we've documented. It's just a guess, but once on the new server, then I can upgrade the Db and we'll have a real time complete user list and it can show any field we want like Ferrari.

Rob,
Since you quoted an approximate number of 348 owners on the board, does that mean you have a count on the other models too? That would be pretty interesting info if you could post it, or tell me where to find it.

Paul, I e-mailed you off line. Call me and I will fill you in about the Carrollton car. I can also give you some pointers as to purchashing 348's.

Send me an email at [email protected] and I'll send back my cell phone number. I will help you with any car you find in the DFW area. I know a fair amount about 348s, including the updates (published and "non-published") and their quirks. I don't charge a thing, but I ain't liable neither! :-)

ask this in General Ferrari Discussion, only about three 348 owners that visit the Texas section, about 75 in the General area.

Is that the car at EuropeanCarCare?

If so, you may want to speak to Dan Marlett, who's also on this board, about that car. I understand that he inspected it in the past.

As for the general 348 info, you'll probably want to read this thread: http://server.ferrarichat.com/~ferrari/ferrarichat.com/discus/messages/21/178458.html?1039113557

Have fun, and welcome

Don't buy that one in carrollton. It was owned by a doctor and he got rearended in it. there was a thread on here about that 3 or 4 weeks ago as I was looking at it. If it is the same car it is red/tan at autocare european. has been for sale for some time. Look at the body where it meets the lower valance trim. I heard you can see cracking from bondo work or something. I never saw it in person.

Newest of newbies - I'm still working on acquiring my first Ferrari. I've noticed a dramatic decrease in price for 348's with the new Modena being out for a few years.
Any other reasons ?
How difficult is it to keep the 348 tuned and does anyone here peform their own maintenance on their Ferrari ?
I've located a 348 with 30k miles in Carrolton for $49k but what defects / weaknesses should I look for ?
