Just an update if anyone wanted to know.... pulled apart the back end of the Esprit on Saturday to find out that the slave cylinder was only being held on by one bolt and was knocked out of position. A few dollars and a few bolts later, everything tested fine. Put it all back together and drove it home. I guess the hard shifting on the track worked the bolts out. I'm excited because that just saved a large amount of money not having to buy a new clutch, etc. I can put that money back into the Ferrari fund....

Actually, there is a dealer in Houston - Star Motor Cars - and there is a dealer in San Antonio - Barrett. Not sure about Barrett, but I think Star has a pretty long list.

Okay, this is completely off topic to your already off topic post :-) but I recently learned that there is no Lotus dealership in Texas. I'm interested in putting down a deposit on an Elise - I assume that means a trip to Austin.

Know of any plans for a such a dealership in the area?

ps - good luck!

Didn't know if anyone here is interested, but this Saturday I am planning on pulling the transaxle out of the Lotus (to find out what damage I did at the track). I've got the Esprit workshop manual, my brother's shop in Lucas, tools/air tools, and a lift to tackle the job. If anyone is interested in coming out to help, offer advise, watch, or call me stupid for attempting this myself, feel free. Should be a good learning experience.

Hopefully, I can get the clutch to cross reference to a Tilton part, since my friend is a local dealer for them. I'm also looking at putting in a torque biasing diff, depending on what we can x-ref.

Let me know. Or at least wish me luck!
