Does anybody have email addresses for the Fiat guys who organized this event... and for the sponsors? I'd like to send a thank you email. The whole thing was put together very well... they did a great job.

Wayne,

I disagree with you on Zagato 2491GT. If it were converted to its original SWB specs, we'd loose another special Ferrari. In that case we should get rid of the Breadvan, some Drogo's, Fantuzzi's, etc.

By the way 2491GT was initially blue,

I attach a picture of one of the first photos at the factory (with alloy wheels) and a picture of
the 1971 Turin Show with whire wheels.

I think this subject is interesting enough for a discussion, so I'll create a new thread in the Vintage Section

Rob, I think that most would pay less for this car than for a standard steel-bodied SWB, but I'm sure there are some Zagato nuts out there that would disagree. There is a similarly styled 330 GTC Zagato out there that has failed to bring in the premium needed to sell at auction three times (that I know of). The car was eventually sold by Mike Sheehan, though I've never asked him how much he was able to get for it. I believe it's probably worth standard GTC money since GTCs aren't exactly rare cars to begin with. A 250 SWB, on the other hand, is special enough to command big dollars with standard coachwork and I would personally pay more for an original SWB than for this monstrosity.

Wayne, thanks for the info. I can see how they would design something like this in 1971, but I agree, either a SWB GT or Cali would be much more of a car. Owner was openly saying that most considered it one of the "ugliest" Ferraris ever. What do you think this car is worth in current form?

Very interesting 1971 Zagato body on a 1961 Ferrari chasis. Maybe a SWB 250? Anyone know the full story on this car?

Rob, that's the 3Z Spyder by Zagato. It's based on s/n 2491GT and was done at the request of Luigi Chinetti. The rebodied car was first shown at the Turin Salon in 1971. 2491GT is listed by most sources as originally being a 250 SWB berlinetta, yet Hilary Raab's s/n book lists it as a 250 SWB California. Either way, it should be converted back to its original coachwork IMHO.

Bob, check some of the older threads in the TX section for more pics of the blue 348. That's Jano's car, he attends most of the events. I personally like the wheels.

Really, a fun great casual show. 19 Ferraris entered with about 5-10 additional I saw in the parking lot. FoD swept all the awards with the Yellow 330 GTC getting 2nd in Ferraris and the 275 GTS getting first. I agree with those selections. I will always choose a vintage Ferrari over a new Ferrari, even an Enzo. I think the Enzo may have won best of show though, but not positive.

Thanks very much to the FIAT Club of NT, very nice show and hope the tradition continues. Would be nice to have larger grounds for more cars to enter, but I thought it was great what we did have plus the free wine and snacks.

Here's some pics of other stuff...

When I got there the cars were on the way out, the 330 GTC would not start so the flatbad with the Enzo on it drove in to jump start it. The 330 had a rattle sound in the motor that did not sound right. The 275 GTS looked great.

Great show! The FIAT Club did a very nice job, and I am not only saying that because the Indy won First place in Maserati.

AWESOME SHOW; nice turn out by Ferrari and Lamborghini (but no Countach or Gallardo). I only got to attend from 8a-10a due to not being creative enough to get out of work. Oh well. I'll post some pics tonight.
Anybody going tomorrow (no cars will be there) to sample the "grape juice"? ;-)
Thanks Rob for all your efforts.

Now to get all the grass out of my car....

Just to clarify... that previous pic wasn't "all"... maybe a 1/3... another whole group of F-cars and a nice group of Lambos and more.
