There's also a track event at TMS Sunday for only $45. It's being run by SRX7 racer Jim Clutts and his new business Sport Bike Hype. It's mostly for motorcycles, but they need numbers and allow cars too. I have to check back with Jim, last time he told me they use the ALMS course, but pics on the website just show the infield. I'll probably do this as I need to test out for the next weeks NASA race.

Chris, my email doesn't work when you try to access it from FChat. [email protected]. Or, you could just copy and paste it to the email! :-)

I may be at MSR that Sunday; check as the date bets closer. There is a race the following weekend and I do need to to some prep work on the car and of course a little practice, too.

Did you say Baby Dolls? Penthouse club is pretty good, too. Well, by "good" , I mean suitable to take business people.
Just FYI, Mercury is good, but the same owner also runs the restaurant named "Citizen" in Dallas. It's near Park Place M-B dealer on Oaklawn. (very close from Turtle Creek) They have plenty of parking space, and lot of beautiful & trendy ladies there, if that is a plus.

Ok, just talked with Susan and she's in town. I'll call the manager later this week and seal everything up. I'll then send a notification out to the FCA DFW list.

We'll call it "Fine Dinning #1" since we already have the ECN.

Not stag huh? Well, ok. But a bunch of guys and a bunch of Ferrari's sure sounds like a recipe for fun. Especially with Addison so close for after dinner.

Usually about half everyone is stag at our events. Last time it was the chicks that were stag. We had 8 single girls there! All the guys were off at the IRL race.

I need to ask Susan and Jerry if they're around, because they were the ones that started the idea. I'll let everyone know after talking with Mercury too.

Rob, I think it will work! Can you put it together from your end as an FCA/FC event? Spouses invited!!!! (too bad mine & David's won't be there, but oh, well)

Many thanks,

Dave

It would be hard to make it a stag event if inviting all the FCA/FC crowd. If really wanting a stag event, then it should probably go offline.

Keith, MSR is a good idea...but I have a feeling that it will probably be hard to get my buddy David there all the way from Turtle Creek...

However, Tom & I may stop by on Sunday on our way back to Austin. Is that Sunday a Members' Day? Will you guys be out there?

If I'm in town, I'll come. Since Dave and company will be stag, will it be a stag event?

You might consider a visit to MotorSport Ranch, as Rob Lay and I are both members and I spend inordinate amounts of time out there.

Yes same place. Both rated very well. I have only been to the one on Preston.

Rob, I must be asleep at the wheel.

I remember the Mercury on Preston in Dallas when we lived there. We went there a few months after it opened in 1998, and really loved it. It appears that this new one in Plano is the same gig...so that's good news. NICE place. This might really work well--I'll let you know tomorrow.

Rob, that sounds like a great idea! Thanks for the suggestion!!

I know Tom will dig it. I will call David tomorrow & check with him as well. That will mean we go to FOD late in the day, which is fine. We can close the place down, and m,aybe even drag Tony with us next door!

I will post back here after speaking with David...

Well, let me make a suggestion. Jerry and Susan have been hanging out at a new upscale place called Mercury at Willowbend mall (right next to FoD dealer). Jennie and I went to try it out and talked with the manager. He was very interested to have some Ferraris visit to say the least. They actually measured the doorway to see if a Ferrari could fit through. He said he could get us special valet parking up front. The food was A+. I had lamb, but they had great seafood, sushi, and steaks. Only downside was this is a hidden treasure and for some reason it's not very crowded. However, we can make our own party.

Please let me know if your friends are game and I can make it a FCA/FC event if you wish.

...on the weekend of the 25-27 in Dallas?

My wife is having a hen-fest at our home here in Austin that weekend, so I'm getting outta Dodge.

My buddy Tom is flying in from Phoenix & we are driving up to Dallas to hang & stay with my buddy David, whose wife is one of the hens...

I'm bringing the 550, and will be driving it on the TMS track on Friday the 25th (instructing at a Porsche dealer event there that day).

However, Tom & David are both Ferrari nuts, and neither of them has one. We plan to go to FOD on Saturday the 26th to see it for the first time. Anyone want to meet us there?

Or perhaps for dinner later? David lives on Turtle Creek Blvd, so I imagine we'll eat somewhere Uptown, perhaps, but with good parking.

It would really mean a lot to both of these friends to see a bunch of Ferraris in one place.

Your thoughts? Thanks in advance!!!
