I have heard that in sales it is best to differentiate yourself from the competition.

I often stuff small expensive orders in fast
food burger bags. I always ask for extra
bags when I grab a chicken sandwich. I am
considering getting bags with pics of males
on the bag. PG-13 bags !! Not R Rated.

Don't start rolling your eyes and raising your eyebrows ! The nurses are almost always the ones who make the decisions in my business.
And yes the majority of the nurses are females.

I see Ferraris usually every two weeks in Houston.

matress mac has had these cars for years. all of which were purchased new before the market crashed. he holds on to them, as it is easier than taking a loss. the f40 has very low miles. the two tr's are both cars that have been painted since and advertise gallery furniure. one has an american flag the other has purple paint with gold lettering. both of these cars are very well known and often scene at various carshows/functions. mac has several other cars but, isn't a car person. he bought the cars as business investments or at least investments to help his business. at gallery, you will also find an old lincoln mark 2 that used to belong to elvis as well as a jeff gordan race used car. matress mac is a true salesman and uses thes types of things to draw people in. obviously, he has been very successful doing so.

Thanks guys, the info where I got it, and what ppl were saying here and there seems to be right on. Except, they said his name was "Guy", and not "Jim". Unless, I just read that wrong and they were trying to say "a guy macnvale(sp?)" They also say hes got a purple TR too? I guess he likes that oh so cool 80s retro flare. :-) I know I do!

Silver/black 355 B at Kroger on West Gray. On the side of the car I saw what appeared to be the outline of DE numbers that had been removed from the car. Maybe car 420?

Whoever's car that is, you got some courage to wedge it in between a bunch of cars at a Kroger parking lot! :-)

>>Now what do you mean by racer roads? I certainly hope you're not actually racing. Save it for the track, not the open roads where another driver, cyclist, or pedestrian gets "in your way" and is injured or killed.<<

I'll admit that "racer road" was a poor choice of words. Howza bout "twisties?" Bottom line is that I have been driving FM 149 for over 15 years. Excuse me, make that past tense. I used to drive FM 149, but no longer. Between the freight train Harleys and the biker packs that do ride 2 abreast, it is just no fun anymore.

Moreover, what's up with this 2 to 3 abreast thing? I have seen on many occasions where a group of cyclists will stay 2 abreast until a car is right on them, then after swinging to single file, immediately popping out again. Flashing lights, honking horn, doesn't seem to impress these folks. Are they trying to prove that the laws of Physics don't apply?

Without ranging even further West, FM 3090 is the last good twistie left. Come on guys. Riding two abreast on a blind curve with no aprons -- I repeat, no aprons -- I just don't see how this can be any fun for the cyclists. With all the straight boring roads, (with aprons!)to ride, why insist on running 3090?

Based on your response, though, it doesn't look like a rational approach, i.e., communications between cycle and car people, will work.

Oh well, I guess that I'll have to give up driving on the weekends...

Dale, better watch out. There are some radical cyclists out there. Truth be told, we cyclists have a legal right to the road and should be treated as another motor vehicle out there. I do think it's rude to be 3 abreast on the road (particularly if there are only a few riders out there), but by the same token drivers get all huffy and think that the 5-10 seconds we may hold them up is going to ruin their day. Folks, you can be in that big of a hurry. You can find links to bike clubs/rides at txbra.org, but don't expect much sympathy.

Now what do you mean by racer roads? I certainly hope you're not actually racing. Save it for the track, not the open roads where another driver, cyclist, or pedestrian gets "in your way" and is injured or killed.

By the way, did miss my race this morning, but I found the problem with my Saturn - corroded electrical wire going into the alternator. A new electrical connector and things are as good as new.

Here you go. Houston Bicycle club: http://www.hbc.stevens.com/. All though I am not in bike shape now, @ one time I would do 300 miles a week. Being from Dallas don't know about the specific roads, but the biggest blast on a road bike is curvy down hill. I used to blast through valley ranch @ 60 miles an hour on 20 Mil tires.

Tigermilk, I just got back from my exercise run up through the Carlos road (3090), and we (us sports car guys) and the radical bicyclists have got to have a sit down to work out a treaty. If we don't, someone is gonna get killed, and it probably will not be a car guy. I have already given up 149, even though it is the best racer road in this area. But, I'm not giving up 3090. What gives with the bike freaks riding 3 abreast around blind curves? If fact, why do the bikers even care about curves. All you guys are into is pain. The more the better. So why not stay off the best racer roads in the Houston area and just pedal down straight road with aprons? If this will not work, let's work out a deal where the pedal pushers get 3090 on odd weekends, and we get it on even weekends. Can you send me the names of the presidents of the area bike clubs? We definitly need to talk. The only thing worse than the pedal pushers are the @$%@#$^ Harleys blasting down the road at 50 MPH...

Not a Ferrari, but an Italian cousin. Yellow Lambo on the 610 West near the Galleria. Unfortunately I was sitting in the left hand emergency lane. Was coming back from a bike race in Anderson and electrical systems started failing. Traffic on 610 caused me to die. Fortunately was able to guide it over a few lanes before stopping. Was supposed to race tomorrow, but instead it's going to be a morning of troubleshooting the '94 Saturn and probably driving the dependable '78 308 to get some parts.

The irony is I got AAA Plus in case the Ferrari ever died on me. First time in 2+ years I've had to use them for a tow and it was on my daily driver.

Always glad to make the thread. Next Saturday is

You also have to consider that the F club has only 1/10 the membership of the P club, something like 80 vs. 800.

Come to think of it, the member and car turnout to the brunch was pretty impressive (just not the preceding drive).
