I've always used USAA and would highly recommend them if you are eligible.

Comprehensive claims have little effect on your insurance rates... if a tree falls on my car (enough to reach my deductible), I am taking the money! Sheesh.

Peter, I use State Farm... Larry Mchargue. The discounts build up after a while, esp. if you move everything with them... I've occasionally gotten competitive quotes, but they are never even close.

I would be real careful with a State Farm "State Value Policy". I had a large incident with a State Farm insured car, they offered me half of the appraisal. Told me that just because the value was stated as .. Took an attorney to nail home the point.

Chubb Indemnity thru PLIB is where I'm at; GREAT company! They even give you an "allowance" of $3,000. for rentals when you have a claim. I have rented a Ferrari 355 spider, Acura NSX, Z06 Corvette, Prowler, Viper GTS, Porsche Carrera 4, Corvette convertible all at their expense when my 308 was in the shop. They also give you one "freeby" claim before looking at rate hikes.

I have been using Progressive for the last couple of years and it has worked well for all my cars. As mentioned earlier the Ferrari is a stated value policy and it was all done over the internet with no inspection etc. I did have a claim with my Suburban and it was a very painless process.

James is right. I use PLIB, and Chubb writes the policies for all of our cars..

State Farm has given me a "Stated Value" policy based upon my purchase price/appraisal, after inspecting the car. It is on a policy with several other vehicles. I have good relations with the agent. My experience with their claims department has not always gone as well.
A tree fell on my car the other day, and it was easier to fix it than to affect my claims record!
I'm saving that for a larger event.

They write a lot with Chubb. This is the company we had people call when I was with FoDallas.

Allstate for now. I am changing back to Hagerty Classic in November. It's just so much less expensive to have classic car insurance.

I live in Dallas and have been with Allstate for a long time but want to shop around. Who insures your Ferrari?
Thanks.
