Jim they all sit around waiting for the uneducated
buyer that grabs the first one the see. They
would ultimately do better; if they moved them in
and moved them out.

Ken, just tell them to call you when they're ready to entertain a $33k sale price. When they've sat on it long enough, they'll call. The only other hope they have is latch onto an uneducated buyer.

It is probably better that this will not work out since with the fiance moving in tommorrow and a wedding in November I should probably not even entertain the thought of an Fcar for a while. I am still feeling out Park Place and just got off the phone with a sales guy and they might try to come doewn on the price a bit, but they wont even get to $33k (IMHO) and I wont even pay that for the car since it is due for a major in about a year.

Ah....to have enough disposable income to make the decision easy.....

I love to hear about stories of people that have
a "car" that is outside their normal vehicles they
usually carry. They really do not know what they have often. They charge a hi price to make
sure they are not taken for. When the vehicle is expensive they end up sitting on it. You make a reasonable offer and they come back that they
are willing to wait. Excuse me but you already have sat on the car seven months. Wait some more.

Good Luck Ken

So on to the next candidate! It's a buyer's market, you'll find the car and Park Place will be eating the costs of keeping this one in inventory.

Are you set on the 3.2? Martin has a black QV for $25K. Rodney also told me about an red 83 euro coupe that's for sale at $20K.

Well, it appears as if Park Place has no interest in selling the 3.2 Cab. I talked with them again about the asking price of $39.9k and explained to them that it was just much too high for a 3.2 cab that needs a major in about 12 months. They asked me what price I was looking for and I told them $30k with the potential that that would go lower if a PPI reveals major issues.

A good '88 3.2 Cab (26k miles) with current maintenance should not go for more than $33k unless it is pristine and a potential Concourse winner which is not what I would buy anyway. There is a member on FChat from North Carolina that has an identical Mondial to this one with 30k miles and current maintenace for $33k which he just sold, so I know that I am correct on the pricing. He had previously asked $37k and got offers around $28-30k which is furtehr proof that I am correct about what this car should go for.

Anyway, I was at Park Place yesterday having a warranty issue on the E55 taken car of and the Mondial is back on the showroom floor all cleaned up. They have now had 2 potential buyers for the Mondial (there was another person before me) without a sale.
