No hard feelings, I'll go.
Also, I moved to a house in Rockwall. There is plenty of room for a PARTY. If someone wants to set it up, the beer is on me.

Let's try it for the November 2nd Tuesday. I'd also say let's avoid the points series, and just go with the normal top 3 for the night - not even worrying about putting the top people for the night in the same third race.

I think one monthly event is enough, unless someone wants to take ownership of something else like monthly breakfasts, lunches, drives, or whatever.

Next year I will run one monthly outing, ECN, Fine Dinning, 1-2 rallies, and maybe a show. Anything we want beyond that I will need members to take ownership. I will provide support.

Yoshi,

Just FYI, the Karting Challenge was the original 2nd Tuesday event. We had to come up with something different after issues with the previous management made meeting there unadvisable.

You can see a recap of the series action at http://www.strahan.org/FCA/

I really don't care if we race there or not. I think we should only schedule one event there until we determine all of our issues have been addressed.

Fun & friendly competition is okay, like listing best wrap time by each participants. That way, you can monitor how much & who are improving or otherwise.

I only rode on carts once in my life, so what do I know?

This carting should be different from 2nd Tuesday or other events, and made into Carting event, IMO.

I always enjoyed it and I would be up for it again. Getting on the podium is always a plus, but never the end-all, be-all of the event. The main point is having some fun in some good company. At least that's my $.02.

Are they still going to give us a deal like last time on the price?

I enjoyed the racing and would do it again. On the other hand, I liked the go carts on Coit and the happy hours at Dave and Busters.

Tell me where and when to be there.

Well, Greg doesn't mention Eddie Hill, although this was his reply to my email that specifically said we wouldn't return if Eddie was still there.

I would also be game (wrong word) for changing the format. Everyone can throw out ideas, some to start are...

1) Team event - divide into 3-4 teams and combine the times. Loosing team buys the first round.

Hmm, I can't think of anything else right now.

I have no opinion, other than noting that it was Eddie Hill that called me and bitched me out. I would really like confirmation that he's no longer there or at the very least will have nothing to do with our meetings.

I also think that the points series was taken far too seriously by some folks and should not be reinstated. Let's just have fun.

We'll start monthly karting events with TBC (if wanted by the membership) in November. A couple questions...

1) Do you want to do each monthly outing at TBC or alternate with happy hours?

2) What do you want to do for October? Speed Zone?

Here's the email response...

Hello Rob,

I wanted to touch base with you. As you may or may not know, we are in the process of a positive transition here at TBC Indoor Kart Racing...

Your concern regarding the timing system and the condition of the karts is issue #1 and we are addressing it daily. Simply put: a huge issue is parts for these karts....Unfortunately, we are at the mercy of overseas manufacturers/distributors as well as customs which, in the past, has limited our kart upkeep and grossly saddled our preventative maintenance schedule. In the past, we've had to "rob Peter to pay Paul" to provide a limited number karts... Also, track staff has been less than diligent in supervising the on-track action(i.e allowing folks to trash the karts.) We are in the process of changing both scenarios.

Ownership has dedicated a hefty outlay to restore and maintain a more than adequate inventory of parts to keep our existing karts in much better condition on a daily basis. Also, we are better training our track staff. I'm confident you'll notice a much better product soon.

We'd be happy to welcome you guys back however, I'd recommend you all wait a month so we can ensure a better on-track experience for you. I see no problem in re-establishing a series for the Ferrari Club...Groups such as yours are important to our business and I will be happy to take over the reins. Please give me a call at your convenience to discuss some details. I look forward to hearing from you.

Regards,

Greg Griffin - Senior Group Sales Manager
