Ken, how you feeling now? Just do what your heart desire. That Mondial wasn't meant for you, as you are "future 328 driver". Don't pay extra for your license plate, and just save the money & thought. I bet your lady will understand your dream. You 2 may enjoy the search together for your F-car. Buying F-car & getting married are fun & memorable moment. I noticed your original post is 9/18, so you are about to get married now, right? At the end of a year, your chance of finding a good buy on houses & F-car probably will be better than now.

BobD, where did you get this photo? My wife is from Lake Oswego & Oregon City. I never saw this design of OR license plate yet. (I was there in July)

Ken, good luck with the wedding in a month. Speaking of license plates, I hope your wife-to-be never asks for this one. :-)

The peer pressure is killing me.:-)

I am going to reassess my car situation early next year. Right now, with the end of my billing year coming up and the wedding a month away, I am way to busy to even try to think about an Fcar deal.

Mike, that is a very nice 308. I work for baker Botts in Dallas.

Ken, forget about the license plate and buy the Ferrari. I just happen to have an excellent 1984 308 QV for sale. I've posted a few pictures on the "sale recommendation" thread a few posts down the board. I also have an E500,a wife, and 2 kids. They can all co-exist given the time and right handling...and Scott has a point about waiting too long. If your an IP lawyer, you can talk your significant other into this deal!! btw: what firm do you work with?

Ken

I knew a man well who was also a saver not a spender.

He became rich and then, due to circumstances beyond his control, never got to enjoy his money. But, he did die rich.

Come on, dude, cut loose! Intellectual Property
Attorneys generally don't end up poor.

Thanks for supporting my position Scott, but Ken and I have already had this talk. He even has access to good older daily driver that he can grab when he sells the Mercedes!

C'mon Ken, you can do it. Take it from us, the longer you wait, the harder it gets.

Ken
Sell the Mercedes and get a used Honda Civic to drive to work, and grab a 308 or 330 off Ebay before it's too late. Plenty of good deals out there. "Forseeable future" has a way of stretching into twenty years. If she really loves you, your bride-to-be will be ok with it. My wife came around.

From one recently married man to a future one..don't get married, don't buy a house and buy the Fcar and ride into the sunset!

Here is one to keep on topic

"FD-out" or "F-out"

Mostly my fault though since I am terrified of making a big financial mistake. I am a saver not a spender. The E55 was my one impulse buy and that impulse took about a week of analysis:-)

Park Place is full of themselves IMHO.

Everytime I called asking if they would come down in price, they said they would get back to me and never did. They dont appear to be willing to budge off of $39,900. They are out of their minds. I feel for the sucker that they get to pay that much for the car and does not know that within 12 months he is getting a $5k maintenance bill in addition to paying about $7k thatn he should just to buy the car.

Ok gents....

since the Ferrari search is put on hold for the foreseable future (fiance just moved to town...getting married....house within a year...yada yada yada...), I was thinking about a tongue in check license plate to stick on the E55

0RRRRE

What do you all think?
