Greg and I? Never. :-)

I probably wouldn't of recognized her, but as soon as she mentioned your name I remembered. She was very nice, I had about 4 samples before getting a full pint.

Chris, I didn't hear anything else about the Daytona.

Rob, I see from the pics Bob must be redoing the rims on the Daytona as well...

Bob has apperantly put on some spare "shop" rims on the car, I assume he must be restoring the Borrani's, did he say anything about any other restoaration on the Daytona?

Thanks, I was flattered that Bob Smith wanted to look at it. He has owned 3 of them. Said he has wanted to bring the headlights back like a California and add side vents to a PF coupe as it has the lines. Would hate to lose the orinality but might be interesting to have a "Bob Smith" one-off:-) It was fun putting 160 miles on it in one day, probably good for it.

Rob, yes that is my old Daytona.

It was a nice original car. I was sorry to hear about the engine, Bob told me about it at Cavallino this year, 10 months later and it isn't done? OUCH!

I know it will be perfect though when Bob is done... mmmmmmmmm wonder if it might be for sale?

The 275 GTS. I sold that car as the last car sold before I left Ferrari of Dallas. Bob had originally done the work on it about 8 years ago and it was brought back in for a "freshening" by the new owner. Sold for $165K.

That's a Maserati Ghibli. Love those cars, I could really go for owning one. I was eyeing it's tailights, that probably fit the Pantera just fine, and would give it a little something different...got me to thinking, hehe.

You forgot John's mod'd Subaru WRX. Don't laugh guys, it's the real deal.

I'll post my pictures tomorrow, with pictures from last year's Pantera club visit, November, to give some referance to what is still there and the progression.

Always a good time to visit Bob Smith's efforts. Good mixed crowd today too. Everyone should consider supporting the MAFFIA Club, Rodney & Marci Haas really do a good job.

Really Chirs, was that yours?

He said it had hydro lock in a cylinder and they have to rebuild it. He said on those cars when the fuel pump comes on it clicks fast until it fully pressures the system, then don't leave it on too long after the clicking slows as it will continue pressuring the system. The guy just had the key on to play with the windows and the fuel pump was on the entire time. Said really rare problem as the valves and everything have to be just in the right place to blow the engine like this.

Oh my frickin gosh! I made it to heaven and back today. Met up this morning at Denton. 20 people for this great MAFFIA Club event, 5 Ferraris, Lotus, Pantera, Jags, and Porsche. Thanks to Bob for giving us a great tour and telling us great stories like why he won't work on green cars, how he got started restoring cars, why he likes working on Ferraris, and which Ferraris are his favorites. Also was neat to watch him go over Greg's 250 pf in a couple minutes. Nice meal at Chillis afterwards and then Greg S. and I hit BJ's for an early afternoon beer. :-) We had Dan Marlett's girlfriend recognize us and say hi at BJ's.

Enjoy the pics...

When: Saturday, October 25
Time: 9:30 AM
Where: Meet in Denton Caravan to Bobs

We are going for a wonderful tour of Bob Smiths Coachworks. He always
has rare and beautiful cars, and the interesting stories about them.

We will meet at the gas station in Denton, exit 380 off I35 at 9:30. From
there, well caravan to Bobs in Gainesville.

After the tour, well stop at Chilis in Gainesville for lunch. Its just
off I35, so its an easy drive back to Dallas after lunch.

Bob has limited the group to twenty (20) people, so please let us know if
you are coming. Reply email me @ [email protected] and let me know how many in your party and please include your cell phone number.
