Jimmy Leake, was from Muskogee, OK (and where Channel 8 was originally broadcast from), my hometown, I knew him. Huge Rolls-Royce freak. Word is he paid a Rolls mechanic to move from England to Muskogee just work on his cars. Wow. His auctions in Tulsa were always great, and now with his passing, Kruse seems to have taken over, with Leake auctions now appearing in Oklahoma City and Dallas. |

Went to college with Jim Leake III, grandson of James Leake who owned chanel 8 in Tulsa. Anyway they did car auctions and they have now teamed up with eBay motors and Kruse Int'l to do all their auctions. Got a booklet in the mail today about a 500 Car Auction in Dallas Nov 21, 22, 23 at Dallas Market Hall. Begins Friday 3pm, Sat/Sun 10am. Booklet has some nice Shelby GT350 Mustangs, '70 Boss 429 Mach 1, Bandit T/A's, 68/69 Camaros and other vintage cars. Not sure on any exotics. There is one 1980 GT MK 5 Race Car. Says serial # takes off where originals left off. Anyway might be of interest to somebody. Here is their website and contact info if you desire more details. www.leakecarauction.com [email protected] 918-254-7077 1-800-722-9942 |
