Latest note from Channin, everything is still on. I'm in Kansas still enjoying the 15 degree weather. I guess it's only a little warmer in Dallas. I had to snow shovel my mom's driveway this morning.
Well I just made the 12 mile journey to my office, and the roads were not as bad as they are saying on the news. I never even saw any ice. So with that said,.... we are still on for tonight!! Again, I am including all the information in this e-mail. To those of you who did not RSVP, there is still plenty of room, so come on out!
Formula One 2002 Season is here!! On March 2 2002 @ 8:30pm we are having a Formula 1 race watching party at The McKinney Avenue Tavern (The MAT) located at 2822 McKinney Avenue (@Allen) This is near downtown Dallas. The MAT has no shortage of TV's, they even have a huge projection screen TV. (10 FEET) They offer good food and also have access to the best Pizza in town from Rocko's! There is no charge for attending however you will be responsible for your own food and drinks. Please RSVP to Channin Murphy @214-704-6969 or [email protected] so that I can have a head count to reserve tables! This is the first race of the 2002 season and will be in Melbourne, Australia therefore to watch the race live we will arrive at The MAT around 8:30PM for the start at 9PM! Come out and have fun! Also if you have friends that would enjoy this, bring 'em!
There has also been an addition to this party!!! ~~~ The Dallas Auto Show is in town from February 27 thru March 3 so there will be a group meeting at the auto show on Saturday March 2 @ 5pm. We will meet in front of the BMW display. From there we will enjoy the rest of the Auto show, then leave for The MAT around 8:15pm to watch the race! Here is the web site for the Auto show :

Sorry guys, I can't make it up to Dallas this weekend. We will be in San Antonio. If there is anyone in S.A. who would like to meet somewhere and watch the race, I am up for it.

I'll be out of town, but this is the same crowd we've done this with in the past. It's mainly the BMW and SCCA club. I'll be at the future ones though. Here's the info from Channin, the BMW social organizer...
