I missed the Mt. Dora show this weekend in favor of 3 days at the St Petersburg street races. What a great setting and great racing. The turnout was fantastic for a first race and there were plenty of grandstands so moving around the track to watch the action at different corners was easy. A pretty compact course layout so walking around and visiting the vendors, pits, paddock etc. was easy. I urge everyone to attend next year as I think this is going to turn into a "Monte Carlo" type event. Several people tried to organize a parking corral, or something for Ferrari owners and were unsuccessful this year. Perhaps the organizers had their hands full putting on the inaugural event. Next year we should really try to organize a group ticket deal or something. It wasn't the sound of a Ferrari racing engine but those Cosworth's sounded very sweet echoing off the downtown buildings. Plan to attend next year, you won't be sorry. Ciao! |
