Yes, around springtime the tourists begin slowly strolling in (mostly retired folk who are heading back North), but May might not be all that bad. Come June - August though it gets very crowded.

St. Augustine is a very nice place -- very scenic as well. It's an ideal location too, as you are just an hour or two away from places like Daytona and Orlando. There's the World Golf Village / Renaissance Resort just minutes outside of St. Augustine with lots to see and do. There's a very large outlet shopping mall nearby (would take a whole day just to hit all the shops). Restaurants galore, not only in the historic district, but all areas surrounding. And, of course, miles and miles of beach to enjoy.

I think that your boss and his family would have a wonderful time!

"...and following the wife around shopping."
LMAO...!

Eric, my boss was invited on business- supposed to go in May; is that tourist season...? i'm just trying to do a little research for him as he's considering flying his family down so they can have a vacation after the business crap... The town itself, St. Augustine, is it nice...?
Thanks for the reply, i really appreciate it... :-)

I've "heard" very positive feedback about the place, but have never stayed there personally...yet. Do enjoy driving over to St. Augustine often with the whole family, staying at various locations along the coast, eating at our favorite seafood hangout, and following the wife around shopping. Have done quite a bit of fishing there over the years too, both boating and surf fishing.

In addition to the many historical sites, the town has many other things to do and places to stay at -- including several bed & breakfast's in the heart of the town.

During the tourist season, it can get rather crowded there -- especially in the historic district.

You planning a trip there, DES?
