Martin, I surprised myself too. It wasn't raining when I left the house. |

That would be Paul Sloan. He was seen at the beginning of last year in a silver 308GTS but since then has been spotted in a Ferrari Isetta that he claims to have bought for a shady dealer in Miami. He was told its a "one-off-version made for the sultan of Brunai".

Hey look what they let the South Florida group drive at the track, when it's not being used to bring their members to dinner.

Hey Martin, rumor has it that Paul actually owns a Ferrari! Couldn't prove it by me. |

Sorry Beccy, I should have given you the national web site. Try this one www.ferrariclubofamerica.org. Click on "the club" and then on the link for membership. The application asks about cars owned, but you do not have to own a car to be a member. The FCA has never required ownership to be a member. Hope this helps. |

Beccy, the FCA events usually offer a kids lap after lunch. |

I clicked every link on that site and couldn't find a place where I could buy him a membership. Any suggestions?

You can check the FCA Florida Region web site for event dates www.fcafloridaregion.com . You may want to buy him a membership - my husband became a member when he was 16 years old! We have an event coming up November 7-9. We will have a lot of different types of Fcars for him do the "goofy grin" over! |

Thanks-for the confirmation AND spelling my name correctly! How often do you have your events? From other posts, I've found that many of them seem to be in South FL-do you ever gather in/around Orlando? While I *like* Ferrari's, my 14-year-old son *loves* them. He's extremely intelligent, but just as extremely unmotivated. I have tried to no avail to convince him that his grades will not impress ANY college-least of all, his dream school, MIT, where he plans to get a doctorate in mechanical engineering-and that if he truly aspires to own a life-size Ferrari, he's going to have to do much better than he's doing now. We've made quite a few visits to Central Florida Ferrari and, while they have been wonderful to Michael, he has never sat in or even touched one of their cars. (Although at another dealership, Michael was able sit in a Lamborghini-I had no idea someone could have a grin so large!) So I guess my question now is this: can he do more than spectate? Robin, you said "everyone seems to be pretty cool about offering rides." I've tried so many tactics to motivate him and nothing seems to work-I've gotten to the point where I am reaching out to people on the internet-so I don't know if a ride in a Ferrari would work either. A dealership offered him a ride in an F40 (which caused another one of those goofy grins) if he brought up his grades, but that was almost a year ago and his grades are still poor. I guess I'm hoping that a ride now would make it more *real* for him. I don't know...I'm rambling on and reaching out in the hopes that I can get through to him before it's too late (he started high school today and doesn't seem to get that these grades are forever). How do I find out about your events? Do I just keep an eye on these posts? How would I arrange for him to have a ride?

Open to everyone! I'm not an owner (yet), but so far everyone seems to be pretty cool about offering rides and invites to events. That might change when they hear me screaming like a little girl while lapping Moroso, but ya never know -R |

Hello all! Are your events open to everyone or only to those who own Ferrari's? |
