Mea Culpa, Mea Culpa, Mea Maxima Culpa. There Kelly I said it. I just picked my car up from Lindsey Automotive in Kenner Louisiana and let me tell you what a difference it makes having a service facility with years of experience work on your car. I had my 30K done by a competent mechanic not Lindsey Automotive I wanted to save money which I did and the work as far as setting timing and changing the belts was done in a competent fashion. But "It's the Little things" that when dealing with a Ferrari are BIG THINGS. For instance, timing cover bolts were backing off and in some cases missing, spark plug extenders were cracked and backing off the plugs, the throttle cable was not bolted down in the engine compartment and the valves needed to be adjusted and the cam seals were leaking along with the distributer seal where one of the o-rings was crushed and leaking. All of this was remedied and Lindsey's along with replacing all of the suspension bushings front and rear and ball joints. When I picked the car up it was like driving a new vehicle, the car is quieter, tighter feeling, and feels like it has more horsepower also it is not leaking oil on the bell housing any longer. In short I now have to agree with Erin from his previous post that there is no substitute for experiece when working on these cars. You may save money in the short term but you are probably really losing time and the thrill of driving a fully functional Ferrari. So Kelly and Erin I have to say it You were right and I was wrong. |
