John, Like Kelly said we are already joking about what happened. While it wasn't funny as it was happening I think all concerned realized it wasn't a personal affront and that yourself and Franco were fighting a uphill battle with the local merchants in the quarter and the police dept.( who by the way do a excellent job with crowd control as evidenced by the fact that MArdi Gras goes off without a hitch every year) they too seemed to be at the mercy of the merchant or merchants with regards to the permit. As I told Kelly and Donny , Stacy and I enjoyed the day. I wish we could have taken Franco and yourself up on your generous offer to participate in Sunday's event however a prior obligation prevented us from doing so. My rant earlier was not about the event or those sponsoring the event but more about the way things seem to happen in our city. As someone who is involved in MArdi Gras and knows what it takes to pull off events staged for large groups of people I commend you for your efforts and know that each year is a learning year. Different problems will arise what makes the event is how you respond to the problems and I think it was handled the only way it could have been. Again congratulations on a successful event and I along with many others look forward to next years event and seeing you in the future.

John, my friend & fellow FCA leader Al De Lauro went & said you revent was just spectacular--first rate all the way! I am sorry my wife & I couldn't make it. We only returned from the Brian Redman Targa 66 event Tuesday, and had too much to catch up on to turn right around & zip to New Orleans. However, partly based on Al's recommendation, we WILL be there next year! Thanks to you & Franco for doing all this work!!

John
You sound like a stand-up guy. I hope that everything works out for all who had trouble. Looking forward to meeting some of you and to next year's event!

Hello Guys:

As the co-producer of the event let me send my very sincere condolences to you guys for the total up on our end that led to you guys leaving. I want to explain when I have more time, but I'm not posting to explain my self.

Instead, I want to tell you that ever car you guys entered recieved a very nice prize and I have them at my home. I have the results and will post them soon. You and your cars will also be in FORZA, CAVILLINO, the FERRARI MARKET LETTER, PRANCING HORSE and other information. Many of you won platinum awards, with some golds and one silver. I am having them custom engraved for you.

Also, Franco and I are organizing a little "poker run" in your honor. We will meet casually at my home and then go to the track.

I will make it up to you guys who have remained very loyal. I can tell you that I spent an incredible amount of time (and over $100,000.00) producing this event, and I was hearbroken by this little screw up that you guys suffered.

Kelly and all, I really am not taking it personally any longer. I think any time you try to stage a event in New Orleans in particular the French Quarter you are at the mercy of the bannana republic that runs this city. We know they were having problems with the permit all day. It amazes me that you can get issued a permit and one person complains and you get your permit yanked. Let's face it it's not like they don't close the streets of the French Quarter down for every fest and freak show that wants to come to town. And speaking of freak shows did any of you see the crowd before the first Hornets Game? It looked like they took every freak off Jackson Square and Decatur Streets and dumped them on Girod St. in front of the arena. So now instead of only being a NFL Joke ( voodoo curse show before game) we can also be a NBA joke. I know I'm ranting but I feel better.

OK,
Here's the plan.
We invite John and Franco.

Right before the food is served, we tell them they must move thier cars because of neighbors complaining and that the only parking is at the shell station at Franklin Ave and St Claude.

We'll tell them thet Erin's limo is going to pick them up.

Let them call every ten minutes and after they have waited an hour, we'll let Mr. Jackson go get them.

When they get back, the food will be gone and we will have had to let a Ford and Chevy take thier parking spots.

BOY, What a Laugh HUH

MY 2 cents.

This is just a joke.

I have not recieved any call either. Kelly told me that he scored a 95, so that 328 must have been dead on. At least you guys don't have to worry about being last, I took car of that for you...

So Frank, are we having it on your lawn next year?

OK. I expected him to win, considering the mileage and age of the car compared to ours. It was nice. I'm anxious to see how the rest of us did.

P.S. Did you receive a phone call last night concerning the show?
