Date: Saturday, November 23th, It's the Saturday before Thanksgiving.
Meeting place: Cracker Barrel on the I-10 at Gause Blvd exit #266 in Slidell, LA
Gas Up: Shell station, Pearl River, LA I-59 at Highway 41 and 1090 Exit #3 on I-59
Time: 2:00PM If you want to eat, we'll be leaving at about 2:45 to go to the gas station. We should be on our way from the gas station by 3:00PM. We should be finished an in Picayune by 5;30 or 6:00PM. Just in time for the cruise night.
Cell number: For late or lost drivers; 888-883-0903, Please remember to bring this e-mail with you, incase you do get lost. Once we leave the gas station we will try to wait at major turns in the route, but if you fall to far behind you will be left behind.
We are going to go north on Highway 41( Pearl River is a 45 MPH zone) to Bush where we will turn on to Highway 21 north to Sun, LA( around 15 miles)
At Sun, LA turn on to Highway 16 West to Enon, LA( around 15 miles)
At Enon, take a left on to Highway 437 South, which runs straight into Highway 40 East.( around 10 miles)
At Barker Corner we will take at left and then a quick right to get on the real good part of Highway 40.( around 12 miles)
At Bush, LA we will take a left on to Highway 21 again and go up to Bogalusa.( around 10 miles)
I know we just made a big circle, but in the evening you can go 16 west and not get sun in your eyes, and highway 40 with the sun at your back is great.
At Bogalusa we will take a Right on Highway 10 east, crossing over the Pearl River into Mississippi..( a couple of miles)
At Cross Roads, MS we will take a right on to Highway 43 South(less than 30 miles) From Cross Roads to Picayune is less than 30 miles, and is a great country road.
At Picayune, MS we will take Highway 11 South into the city.
In Picayune we will go down Highway 11 South till we get to Highway 43 again. It's just a couple of miles. We'll take a left again and go down about a mile to Godfather's Pizza on the right. We should get there about 5 or 6 PM.
From here we can break up or join the Boulevard Cruisers( Local Car Club) for their Cruise Night, which is next door to the Godfather's Pizza in a big parking lot. I am a member of the club and we usually get form 25 to 50 old cars. The cruise in runs from 6 till 9. They will be giving a donation to one of the club members that night who has terminal cancer and who is running out of money. The club had a car show in Picayune the day of our concourso and raise over $2,000 for this cause.
They will have 50's music, a 50/50 drawing and Godfather's has a buffet for $5.00 per persons with a 50/50 ticket.
So, as you can see, it is a fun drive, you can leave at any time or stay with us till 9 that night. If you are running late call my cell at 888-883-0903. Also, get a small talk about radio, with sub channels. We monitor channel 3, sub channel 08 for the drive. So, Channel 308. You can get them at Wal mart for $20.00.
