It's a surprise, we are leaving that afternoon, so they will not have a clue as to where they are going unitl we get there on Saturday. I'll call you. Maybe lunch. Thanks Kelly |

Kelly: I know a lot of judges and dont know anyone who can just "take car of those issues." I'm sure your post was tougne in cheek, but you can never be too careful in a public forum. I can tell you that I fight the tickets and I often get them legitimately dissmed or reduced because of "lack of evidence." By the way, Kelly, I have some fantastic trophies at my home for the 328-308 class. We need to round up the troops and give them out. I am having a surprise party for Tom Bowes (yellow 360) at my home on December 21. Kelly I'd like to invite you and the 308 clan. Many of the Ferrari guys will be there. I can also give out the awards to those who come. But SHHHH! it is a surprise. (Tom cannot work a computer so I assume this is not public to him!!!!!!!) John

John the one in Nachidoches was it a state trooper or a local shriff. If local you can more than likely pay it and it will never appear on you record, allot of small towns are like that. the one in N.O. would be more difficult. Erin I have not looked at the statute my self but have used it before and the Judge told me 90 days. Wade

Hi John, I have not had to pay a ticket in years. My 2 cents: 1) Don't speed, and if that doesn't work: 2) 894 is great, but the period measures longer than 90 days. It is actually 5 years. C.Cr.P. Art. 894 section B, Paragraph 2 3) The DA's office can reduce the charge to a non moving violation and keep it off of your insurance. In most cases, all you have to do is ask. In some cases, they won't do it no matter how nice you are. Response to this sort of approach varies wildly from one jurisdiction to another. Always remember that the cop pulling you over is nervous (or should be) and is trained to kill you. Underneath all that, he or she is just doing the most unpleasent part of the job. Traffic stops suck. Be nice to the mean 'ole police officer and they might just let you go. Hope that helps. Erin

1 of them was near Louis Armstrong International, and the other was up in Nachidoces(or however it is spelled). |

Well, you could come on a drive with us and meet the judge who takes care of those issues for us.

Have you tried pleading article 894 that keeps them off of your record as long as there are no more infractions within 90 days, that is the easy way Wade |

I was reading the Speeding Ticket thread in the Off Topic section and thought I would bring it up here. I have received 2 speeding tickets here in Louisiana recently, and was wondering if anyone here had any recommendations on how to go about keeping them off my record. Any experiences or thoughts? |
