Mark, Derrick's car was originally silver/red. He had it painted red and tinted the windows black so people couldn't see the inside( the interior needs freshening).

Frank, Gina and I had a great time. I appreciate being invited. We can't wait for the next drive....I also have some "future Ferrari owners" that would love to drive with us and be in our company (BMW and Mercedes owners).

I did see that Mondial at Montrels restaurant. I do not know the owner.

Thanks Mark- that was a good thing to read on shifting.
I found that double clutching helps too.

For the front spoiler I made a couple wooden ramps to get me into the driveway without banging the spoiler. I don't think mine has quite the front spoiler yours have Erin- if I remember yours is more like the 2800GTO spoiler isn't it? Our sudivision has extra large curbing so going at an angle won't work.

Hi Wade. That may have been me that you have seen around. It is a Red '91. I have had it for about one year. I need to post a photo of it on my profile. If you regularly attend the local events, we will meet.

Gentlemen, there is a great article about the second-gear-shift-problem in the latest issue of Forza. It seems that it is very common with Ferrari. Shifting to second when the trans. is cold could acutally bend the shift linkage and the forks that control the shift. Check it out (I think it is page 32 of the magazine).

paul, Wade and Erin are right the car is hard to shift to second until it is warm. I can't shift to second until the car has been running at least 15 minutes or a few miles to get everything flowing and warm.

I am glad you got your car, Paul.
Let's all go to Piero's to celebrate!

Don't sweat the 2nd gear until the car is warm. That is pretty normal.

Spoiler... well, did anyone hang on to that picture of mine after I hit the gravel road? If so, please post it here. I have it at work, but my little computer at home starts to pant if I leave too much stuff in it!

The spoiler took me a little getting used to. A good rule to live by-- Never take your car down an unfamiliar road at a high rate of speed.

Good thing it is made of fiberglass!

Congratulations.
Erin

Paul is the shifting to second tough all the time or just when it is cold, if so shift form first to third until the oil temp reaches about 195 then use second you should feel a significant difference then.

Hey Kelly- I bought the black 328 GTS!
Car was just like Jim described it- very nice and needs nearly nothing.
Very few flaws that I could find- few stone chips on the front, no tool kit, rear tires don't have much tread left, radio not so great.
Not that a radio is much use! - the full Tubi exhaust sounds incredible. Car runs strong.
Bit hard to shift into 2cd- doesn't grind just kinda stiff & I didn't want to force it. Clutch only has 4K miles on it so I don't think thats a problem.
I'm really happy. My first Ferrari.
See you on the road soon.
Will post a picture soon.
