John, I will be at your house tomorrow morning for the road rally, with one guest riding in my car. In a previous email, I also mentioned that another car (future Ferrari owner) will be with me and it will also include one guest.

Donny call Erin today. Erin wants to do the same thing.

You all can meet us at the I-10, 3-10. I'll call you when we are leaving John's house. I would be at the interchange around 9 AM. I guess just park on the side of the road or at on of the on ramps at the exit to airline on to the 3-10.

Any later and you may be trying to catch up with us.

I want to catch up with the convoy somewhere but since I'm coming from Baton Rouge don't really want to go all the way into NO. Where would be a good spot to wait and approx what time should I be there?

Thanks alot.

No worries Kelly.
I was going to hook up with the caravan when the group came down I-10 but I'll just go on out to the track.

I live out west of town so I can go out there early.

Weather forecast looks great- no rain in sight.
Highs in the upper 50s.

I know several of you may not be going on the road ralley and will go straight to the track.

I'm looking for a volunteer (maybe someone who's comp.ed? , who would collect money/checks at the enterance to the track) I can offer free lunch?
Or my thanks?

The person or persons would need to get to the track by 9-9:30, and wait by the gate for entrants and collect money.

I know it is a pain in the ass to do this but I will be leading the convoy and will not be there. If its not done, we will have many, many freeloaders, and the club will suffer.

The job will be from 9-about 10 when the convoy arrives, after that we will have the gate person not letting anyone in unless they collect a separate check/money.

Any takers?

John,

Tracy and I will be there as a driver and a guest and may bring a couple of other guests. How late can we give you the exact number to get them in the lunch headcount?

If you are driving in the event, you are welcome to come along with the Police Escort.

We will open the track event to non-Ferraris with prior approval from Franco or I. The approval depends upon the relative competancy of the car and/or driver. If you wish to take your car on the track as a non-Ferrari, the price is still $110 but you need to have prior approval.

If you are the friend of a Ferrari club member, and own a Maserati, Porsche, Viper, Panos, Lamborghini, or other high performance exotic or semi-exotic car, and can demonstrate to us a level of competancy and care which will make us feel comfortable that you will not be a threat on the track, we will admit you. Price is $110.

If you are not participating in the track event and are just spectating it might be best to just meet us at the track. Too many non-Ferrari's in the escort makes it very difficult for the Police to know who is or is not supposed to be in the caravan (If you are driving a Ferrari they know). However, if you are paying, and are going to the track, we will let a select number of off-marque cars along on the caravan on a first come first serve basis.

Price is as follows: Driving and lunch $110
Spectating and lunch: $25

So if you are driving and bring a guest, price is $135. Please bring a check or exact change.

If you were sent home early from the concorso, you may come for free. Guests are still $25.00. (unless you were the guest or spouce of a person who paid for the concorso and had to leave early) You may invite whomever you like, BUT you are responsible for them, and they or you must pay for them. Please do not try to invite anyone who will not pay.

My suggestion for those who wish to spectate and ride in the caravan is to hitch a ride with a Ferrari owner. Everyone us usally very generous with rides. Riding in a high speed Ferrari Caravan is also a fantastic experience. Bring a video camera!

Please have checks/entry fees at either the start of the caravan or at the track.

John, count me in for 2 people. I reinstalled the old radiator so I can make it in the Ferrari and won't have to losten to Kelly's jokes if I showed up with the Porsche.

Please spread the word that we will leave my home at 7400 Marconi Drive, New Olreans (between Robert E. Lee and the lake) at 8:30. If you wish to caravan with us please be there at 8-8:15, gassed up and ready to go. If we have enouph paying members at the track event we will have a police escort to the track.

Otherwise, please be meet at the track at 9:30.

If you wish to bring spectators, please have them bring a check or cash for $25.00. This will pay for lunch (It is too difficult to monitor who is eating and who is not, so please, if you wish to spectate please bring a 25 bucks and join us for a nice lunch).

My cell phone, which will be on that morning will be 504-261-8298

Actually, I'm pretty certain it was mine. I do have 2+ laps of video of your rear bumper and there is nary a spark. Not to mention being followed off of the track by Erin,Franco, and a few others, and having them tell me about the fireworks going on behind me. That would also explain the loud popping at upshifts under WOT. I was never able to coordinate a ride for somebody to ride behind me with the video camera. The only reason I have video of yours is because the one time I lined up a ride for Franco's brother in law, he taped you instead of me by accident.(They had gotten held up for 3/4 of a lap by the track official) Bummer! If I get the extender in for my car I'll be there on the 4th!

Dave:

I think the car that people saw spitting fire was mine, that they mistook as yours. That may explain why you didnt see it when you had someone follow you with the camera?

Lets find out Jan. 4th!! Battle of the fire spitters?

I can promise you there will be plenty of eye-candy!! F50, F40, 330 TR, Breadvan (maybe), 360, 355, a fire spitting 328 Berlinetta and great friends. I will have lunch brought in. Please try to come and support the club. Please also spread the word to the guys not on our list.

Also, I have awards from several platnium 308s, one gold and one silver. They are at my home, and I'd like to give them to thier proper owners. They are custom engraved, and fantastic looking. I will bring them to the track.

Oh and by the way, If you were sent home early from the concorso, please let me know. I will make you a deal. Please help me spread the word to the other owners and, the track is free to you.

John

Franco and I, and Kelly (our north shore correspondant) need some help beating the bushes on this one. The more who participate the cheaper, and more fun, it will be.

Please collect commitments and post on this site.

John asked me to post the preliminary details on the track day set for Jan 4. Right now we need to get a rough head count of who is interested. If you have been to one of our track events before then you know that it is probably the most fun you can have with your pants on! ;-) Price is dependant on the number of drivers who participate. It has always worked out to $100-$150 per person in the past. I'm not yet sure if that includes arrangements for lunch.Anyone interested, sound off so we can get a running tally, and also answer any questions you may have.

Dave
