John,
I agree with Frank, Kelly has put a lot of time into making sure that we are informed. kelly has also made himself very accessable when I have needed information and has ALWAYS called me back within a reasonable time. His well of information and persistance is why I chose to be apart of the last concourso.

John, Kelly is already doing it though this forum, and with a email list he has compiled by "pestering" people to come on these drives with us. While not all the cars that come are Ferraris I know Kelly already has a list of owners and does include them in all of his emailings. He certainly has the drive for the position and I think would do a fine job.

I'm glad there is some interest. I haven't heard from Kelly directly. Kelly are you there? Paul is your name in the hat? In any case please, if you are seriously interested (this is a seriously important job, which will take time) Please post names.

I WANT campaigning!!! That means there is serious interest in doing it correctly. What I need is someone who will do the running around necessary to put a list together AND once it is together be able and willing to mail/e-mail/phone participants.

Our club is growing in leaps and bounds, both in numbers and recognition. Pirelli is talking about giving us $25,000.00 for next years event, and we are getting SERIOUS press all over the world. (I just read the draft article that will come out in FORZA). Our club could grow to such an extent that we could annually host a Ferrari meet on the level of Pebble Beach and Palm Beach. We have a lot of momentum. Franco and I just need some help pushing it along.

What I meant was something between, "no hard feelings" and "The purpose of me putting in my opinion is to express myself, not bring you down." Really. No offense meant, Wade.

You are right. You are not campaigning for office, but I was slightly concerned as to how you would take my point.
I obviously needn't have worried.
Regards,
Erin

That is a good idea Paul, however, with past events we have tried this and it never seemed to work out. It was always John, Franco, and myself that made the calls. I do not know how the last event was handled because I really did not participate with the exception of some emailings. I am sure John would consider anything to streghten the events participation.

I think it's great that the group has grown enough to need a communications person.

Most of the things on the list of duties aren't to time consuming once the lists get set up.

The only time consuming function is calling 40 people. For this I would divide the call list up among some folks- which I would be willing to help with.

I am not sure I know what you mean by blowing the wind out of my sails. I am not campaigning for an office. I am mentioning to John and as he well knows that I have been involved in this capacity with the club since its' inception, it has only been the last year that my focuses have been elsewhere. It is up to John who he would like to use, I certainly can find other things to do to occupy my time. I am sure Kelly could do a fine job as well, after all he is the head of your little group. So Erin no need to blow.

Wade, not to blow the wind out of your sails (I am sure you would do a fine job), but to date Kelly has been serving in this capacity... at least within this forum. He keeps us informed of any events and organizes drives on a regular basis. In fact, one would be hard pressed to find a thread in this section informing us about an event that Kelly didn't start.

Someone should ask Kelly if he has considered this.

John since I have done this in the past for many events, and I already have the lists in my computer. I would be willing to take on this office again. I was successful in the past doing so and am sure I would be again.

Dear Local Louisiana club members:

Franco and I are looking for a responsible volunteer who would like to take on the responsibility of being our communication officer.

The job is very important. Franco and I spend a lot of time and money putting on these events, and will continue to do so, However, we need help in getting the word out. The more Ferraris that are at these events the better they are. The person who will take on the office will need the following and be willing to:]

1. Have the time to devote to this
2. Retrieve all of the registration forms from Lance Broussard, our coordinator for the Concorso
3. Retrieve the partial list I have in my office
4. Be computer literate, and be able to create a data base of people with addresses, phone numbers and e-mails
5. Be able to mass-email
6. Be willing to phone bank 40 plus members for each event.
7. Make the contractual and legal commitment that the list given to them will NOT be used for any type of soliciation or buisness.

Please post any candidates you know of, including yourself if intersted. This office is extremely important and vital to the club.
