When I was a little kid, my dad used to push me in the grocery cart. He would run with the thing-- and I used to think it was going very fast. To make a long story short, over the years I have had to move into different machines that give you the sensation of speed. My PA-28-180 used to feel fast, but then I flew a Saberliner and all bets were off. Anyway, the Ferrari made me feel like I was flying on the ground-- like I was hauling butt even when I was driving the speed limit. That is why I like it, but I am ready for something faster. So, in answer to your question, Frank: The question isn't how much faster I want to go (Well, if it was, the answer would be 10 x 3 to the 8th Meters Per Second) The question is: How much faster can I afford to go? See you tonight! Erin |

I am really hurt that no one has mentioned how slow my 2 valve is.This would seem to be the perfect forum to pick on Kelly. I'm impressed not one has brought it up. Erin, If you get a TR we all get to drive it HUH??? |

Good points, all around. Now that I have been shopping around a little, I do not know which direction I want to go. One thing is for sure, I am not going to move up into a F355. I think I am more in the 512 market- that is, of course, if I do not go with the M3. The M3 is supposed to be able to straight-out SPANK my 308 around the track; it does not cost that much more-- AND I could drive it every day! Bret (of Fantasy Motors) has agreed to let me drive his to check it out. Also, I have it on good authority that I can get a really clean Testarossa for little over $60,000. That is my dream car... I might have to go that route. I JUST DON'T KNOW!!! Damn, I love my problems! Thanks for your input. For the record: No matter what, I do not believe that this will not be the last Ferrari I own. For classic sex appeal the Ferrari can't be beat- certainly not by a BMW. And I agree - by the numbers lots of cars smoke a 308/328. Is it just me or does the Ferrari just feel faster then it is? Perahps it is the sound or the raw feel but I always have a "go fast" feeling that a more refined car just doesn't deliver.

I would say that an M3 would walk all over everything up to a F355. Remember, there are very many cars that are <$50K that would outright spank our 308's and 328's! Where we gain ground is that the little hottie sitting next to the dickhead in the Cobra/Trans Am/Z-28 etc would MUCH rather be in our car! ;-) Dave |

If I was thinking of moving up an M3 wouldn't be on my short list. To much depreciation and buggy electronics. Besides- how much faster is an M3 over a Euro 308 4 valve? Given the prices presently a 355 would be a good deal- esp. if you want a GTS rather then the ragtop. For me personally - if the money god grinned on me an older rather then newer Ferrari would be my choice.

Erin, You aren't seriously telling me you are comparing a M3 with a 355 or 308 for that matter? |

Hi guys. I would like a BMW M3 or a F355, but just talking about selling my baby is giving me seller's remorse! I suppose I should just throw it on the market and see what happens. It is a 1983 QV Euro and has about 28,000 miles. I have put about 11,500 of these miles on it myself. 30K was done at about 17,000 miles, less than 1.5 years ago. Lindsey has put in a new, larger water pump and done a complete 134A conversion (with new everything). I added a 200watt CD player. The car has the origional tools and spare. Although the the car has been painted, it is still the origional color. It spends the majority of its time in my hanger at the Hammond airport. Check out my profile for a picture. It was too big to post here and I do not have a photo editing program on this computer. Regards, Erin

I have decided to sell my 308. If any of you know someone looking I would appreciate you passing it along. Those of you that know the car know how clean it is. I am ready for something even faster! Erin |
