Don't worry, Tom, it'll be there... if the world ended, it would still manage to find you...

Tell them exactly whay you just said and tell them you can't afford to pay a penny 'cause your morals won't stand for it...! tell them you refuse to be subject to an unforgiving system that preys on the nearest victim-to-be, just because they need to fill some corporate capitalist quota... remember: your government is not in place to protect you- they are a corporate entity, whose sole purpose is to make you run in the hamster wheel, generating energy for their lily picket homes- and they tax you the entire time you do it... FIGHT THE POWER...!

(Sorry, i have a court date coming up for some tickets some a-hole cop gave me... i'm just warming up...)

I was in my black Cherokee that hasn't been washed in a long time. There were many other cars on the highway around me, and all of them doing 75 as well. Most of the time, when you plead not guilty, a court clerk will ask you what can you afford to pay, and they will accept that amount. Cop was a real a-hole. I'll keep you guys posted.

When you get to court and the cop asks you if you want to plead to a lesser charge (lesser speed), tell him to go #$%^ his mother; they ripped me a new one with that scam, i paid $230 and they gave me two points on my license... Tell him and the judge that you're not guilty of anything, that you were going the speed limit...
Also, while you're there, tell the judge and officer that you'd like to see the records of the device they used to calculate your speed... Radar guns need to be calibrated every two years or so and in some states, the guys using the radar guns need to be retrained, also every two years or so... if you can (if you happen to go by the area you got pulled over), try and remember or see where the nearest speed limit sign was, before you were pulled over... if it was far enough off, that will help, too... hopefully, there were other cars around when he nailed you, you can say he mistook you for someone else... is your car shiney...? hopefully not... were there any shiney vehicles in your vicinity when you got pulled over...? trucks, buses of any sort, someone with alot of chrome on their wheels (or anywhere else)...? Also, was there anything that could've blocked you from him, in relation to where you were and he was, when he radared you...? Most importantly, tell him you want see the certificate of when the last time the radar gun was calibrated and his certificate of the last time he took the class, to know how to use it... usually that's too much of a bother for them and they'll leave you alone... above all else, adamantly defy any wrong-doing and vehemently declare your innocence...! LONG LIVE THE COMMON MAN...! @#$% THE SYSTEM...!

I wish there had been 1 less cop on I-95 here in CT last night. Fu*&%r wrote me a ticket for 75 in a 55, and expects me to fork over $200... I don't think that'll happen.

Dave, whenever it's dry enough to go cruising, i'm on the southern state and northern state as much as possible, usually late at night... every once in a while, i see the fuzz (usually a state trooper) on the southern state and i try to maintain myself in an orderly fashion so as not to get nailed... i have been extremely fortunate enough to not even see "the man" on the northern state, at all, in either direction... the later it is, the better... my absolute favorite time for going out for a drive is Sunday morning around 6... no one's out there and if there were any cops patrolling the parkways, they're done by then... not the safest assumption to make, but by far, the most rational... Ocean Beaches is another one to cruise on, if you're careful... beautiful parkway, too... The LIE seems so industrial to me, but at night, as you get real close to Manhattan (or are just leaving Manhattan) there are some very pretty parts... i'll always have it in the back of my mind that there might be some cops around, but so far, i've been extremely fortunate (and i drive A LOT!)...

I think the fuel tank problem affects the Ford Crown Victoria and the Mercury Grand Marquis. I would say that the chance of getting tickets (speeding, etc.) are just as good because they have other vehicles at their disposal, at least on the roads I take. For instance, on the Southern State Parkway, I have seen State Troopers using Camaros and SUVs, both marked cars. So, I don't think it's a very good idea to go nuts, if you know what I mean. If you break the law, they have many ways to nail you even without their full fleet.

This all comes from an accident where a trooper was killed when his car was rearended and then burst into flames. the trooper was stopped responding to a small accident when an SUV lost control at over 80mph, hit 2 cars i think then hit the crown vic. this happened on the thruway near yonkers. It did not have a gas tank shield that it wsa supposed to have.

i don't know what you mean when you say 'fuel tank shield'... can you explain that to me...?
(also, did wherever you got that from say anything about a substantial decrease in cops patrolling Long Island...? :-))

All state trooper cars without the fuel tank shield have been taken off the road. the cars without the shield consistue about half of the cars the state has. this is both good and bad. there will be less cops to keep the idiots off the roads, but chances of tickets are reduced.
