Yes, Tim, you're right, it was a Barchetta, now i remember... Still, for some reason, i recall it being green...

How were those few minutes...? Were you along for a ride, or was the car parked...? You've been in a lot of Ferraris, huh Tim...?

That was a black Ferrari and it was WHart. it was him with his 550 barchetta, a car which i have had the pleasure of being in, if only for a few minutes.

i recall seeing an article in "one of the" car magazines (C&D, R&T?) about a gentleman with a green Ferrari... i thought they mentioned that it was driven for the article on 9W, by Bear Mountain- am i wrong...? It was early on a Sunday morning, the article said... Does anyone know what i'm talking about...?

not really articles - in 42 they took a pic of what they said was one in Brescia in the rain - and in 44 someone wrote in the Letter to editor that there are only 3 in the world and none are regesitered for the street and no one would leave it in the rain :-) he referenced 0856 - spider owned by stroll - 0860 spider owned by bardinnon and 0858 can am owned by medlin - I am sure you know all this

Before you die, drive into Monoco on the Grand Corniche as the sun sets. Park your Ferrari or the Contessa's Bugatti in front of the Hotel Du Paris. Take the elevator to the roof. Ask for the table under the skylight which they will open over your head as the fireworks start and order the rack of lamb and a bottle of Crystal. Mention my name when you make the reservation and as they bring the creme brule tell them I'm sorry about the Contessa...

Tom, is that 9w between 9 and the bear mtn bridge? thats a fun road. Last time i was there was on my way to the FCA event at west point. I was in the sporty little A4, only i had hernia repair sugery the day before so i was a little drugged up. i kept it at the speed limit. Great road though. i didnt get to see any cars because i got there too late, not like it mattered as i couldnt really walk and it entering/exiting the car hurt.I also like rt 448, 128, 422(?) and king street (120A).

there is a section of 9w by me that has great rising sweeping turns for about a mile that is pretty cool to hit at about 60-70

Chicago has a thread about which roads you like to drive your car on- seems like a cool topic, so i thought i'd bring it here...

There's a road not too far from here that i like, called Sweetbriar Road- it's only worth driving on, late, late at night... It has to be real late, so there's not much of a chance of other people driving on it...

The road isn't very long, but it's very twisty, VERY DARK and loads of fun... The fastest i've ever gone on it is 60 and not for more than a minute or so... Don't drive on this road with poor brakes- you won't have any left when you come out on the other side... You can drive in either direction on Sweetbriar, but there's barely enough room for one car- when someone else is coming in the opposite direction- one of you needs to pull to the side... You ever feel like putting some hair on your chest, take a ride on Sweetbriar...

Does anyone have any particular roads they like to drive on...?
