Tim, i know this post is a bit late, but the one in midtown is also Manhattan Motorcars--but their specialization is Bentley only. the larger branch of MMC (and their warehouse, from what i understand) is on the west side by 11th/12th.

DES, the Saleen S7 is on the main floor, the rest of the inventory are upstairs and you will need to have a saleperson to take you there.

:::GASP!:::

i've never seen a Saleen in person... Nor a Murcielago... Nor a Bugatti... Nor a 959... Nor a track-ready Diablo... Nor have i ever seen "too many to count" Diablos in one room... John, i never stand up at the computer (at least, it's very rare...)
But even sitting, after i read that list, i had to grab the arms of the chairs to double check, 'cause i felt like i was floating for a second... Where is Manhattan Motor Cars...? On second thought- don't tell me... i might actually go and then i'll pass out and it'll cause a big scene and they'll never let me come back... Damn, my heart rate is up just THINKING about that list... Ok i need to sit... Wait... i AM sitting... Sigh... It's a vicious cycle, this passion...

- 1 of the 12 track-version of the Diablo
- Blue Buggatti
- Saleen S-7, and
- Porsche 959

I haven't seen anything interesting since last fall. Everything is put away around here because of all the salt on the roads. I see an ocassional C4 Porsche but that's about it. Classic coach shop/store (heaven!) looks unbelivable. I would love to see it in person.

They've changed their greeting and now call themselves Ferrari & Maserati of Long Island, whereas it used to be called Ferrari of Long Island. They close at 6, so i couldn't make it there today, but they're open on Saturday, 10 to 4- i'll be the guy in the long, black leather jacket, if you happen to be there when i'm there with Birdie... :-)

Thanks Eli,
I did look at the Maserati's and other F-cars they have.

I know most on the list have a different opinion but I think my SL 55 is ten times the car the Maserati is. (Let the Flaming begin)

DES, it's an FCA-sponsored event. You needn't be an owner to be in FCA. Classic Coach graciously opens their doors for their Open House. Ferrari owners can have their cars inspected in preparation for the upcoming track and concours season. All enthusiasts are welcome and hundreds of people attend the event, many of whom are non-FCA members. Classic Coach welcomes everyone. You'll see not only the cars, but a superlative coachwork and service facility.

Right, a lot of Challenge cars in all stages of repair and vintage/classic cars in various stages of restoration. The cars are put on display indoors and outdoors on Open House Day and a nice buffet is offered. Owners can have their cars examined by technicians in preparation for the track events. Everyone brings their cameras. Classic Coach becomes a Ferrari Museum on Open House Day. It's like that on ordinary days too!

Hi Bret,

Yes, that's my 308 GTB Fiberglass. It's in to have the muffler repositioned so the rear valance can be placed. The ANSA muffler on it now sits a bit too high and the tailpipes interfere with the center section of the valance. You'll have the chance to see what the rear valance looks like on the earliest of the series. It will be having an oil change as well. I was in on Saturday afternoon.

I'll be sure to ask for you when I come to pick it up. I'd like to see how your engine rebuild is going.

I thought that might be your red 308 when I saw it, very cool. We do seem to have a pretty good assortment of cars at work, lately we seem to have a lot of older ones which I love. Those little V12s are just awesome. Next time you come down stop over by the work bench where all the engines are. I don't think we've met so it would be nice, my whore of an engine is down there too and all apart again so you could check out all the internals and the bare block, etc. if you wanted. I'm down there Friday afternoons and Saturday all day. The head mechanic is a very cool guy whom you probably met already I guess.

Ok, people- the weather's nasty out there, so our odds of catching a glimpse anything other than a snow plow are slim... This is the off season spotter's thread- Anything goes: dealerships, vacation spots out of state, repair shops- anything (just not stuff you see in magazines or on television:-)).

Coincidentally, i stopped by B of LI to check out the ladies and much to my pleasant surprise, they had an exceptional line up...

The lot, as usual, was littered with Bentleys and Porsches, with the occasional MerceDES or BMW but there were some interesting cars there, too... The silver sliver, once way in the back, that i assumed to be a 360 was closer to the front, this time, confirming it's existence as a 360 spider... Then, they moved the white Testarossa over to the right, two spaces over from the 360... But tucked in between those two beauties was a lady i don't see too often... a black Diablo... Like freckles on bare skin, orbs of fallen rain drops glistened on her body; she was a sight to behold... If you get the chance, get down there before she's gone...

Lastly, the red 360 spider is still in the window, next to the two huge Bentleys... It wasn't there a few days ago, but now she's back and that's what matters... :-)
