You can make a 959 street legal. There is one here in central florida that is seen often. It is not a kit, I have talked to the owner and been in the car it is the real deal. So it can be done. By the way if anyone want to rent a exotic (Porsche, Vette or Viper) in Orlando check out www.dreamcarsunlimited.com we could use the business. God Bless |

it has to be crash tested, and the results of the crash test must meet DOT standards. Until someone wants to give the DOT two 959's to destroy, they wont be road legal. This is the same reason you cant have holdens in the us,only for a limited time and limited use. |

I know what you are talking about- the showcar policy- where you can prove its historical significance and drive it up to 2k miles a year, but Nick said this was fully converted so it is road legal. You can convert ANY car to this, it just costs money. |

no, they werent crash tested. you cannot simply change bumpers and lightsto make them road legal. they can never be road legal, but there are ways to drive the non the road such as either registering them as a 911, or with some sort of display only arrangement. this is why bill gates had a few impounded that he never got back. |

Tim, they can convert them, it just costs money. Its like a euro Ferrari- you have to change the bumpers, lights etc. |

they cant be converted to be street legal. they were never crash tested. the only way to import tham is to import them as a collector car which means a very limited number of miles can be put onthem per year otherwise the gov't will convert it into a small cube for you free of charge. |

Alot of the 959's in the U.S. are converted so they are road legal. If you have an extra 300k +/- burning a whole in your pocket, this is helluva supercar. |

ilver 959 listed for sale at www.huntingridgemotors.com in Bedford, NY. It's been listed on the site for a really long time. I guess most people want to drive their Porsches and not just park them in their back yard since it's not road legal. |

I don't know if it is the same one, probably not, but I saw a red 959 on top of a car transport truck going up the turnpike on Saturday a week ago. Made me take a double take on that one, it was going the other way. |
