I won't speak for Jeremy but in my case I can't justify spending $200 a day for something the P-Car club does for $90 a day. I'm not P-car fanatic but I recognize a well run event when I see it and the NY Region PCA does a great job and has a waiting list at some events. The economy of scale won't happen if FCA and others keep the "entry fee" as high as they do. I would imagine it costs the same to run an F-Car event as it does a P-car event. Of course if they are trying to keep out enthusiasts of more modest means, then they are accomplishing their objective. |

Jeremy: I guess I don't understand your point. Many folks just show up for 1 or 2 days of a 2 or 3 day event. At FOC/FCA events each run group gets about 6 20-30 minute sessions per day so 2 hrs of track time should be no problem. |

I'm going up to Pocono August 9th to do a track day with PDA driving school. A couple buddies with Porsches are comming (Twin turbo X-50 and Carrera 2 S). I have never done a PDA event before so I cant really comment on it. I have done some events with SCDA though and they are very well run, I highly recomend them. Markus, I'm not that proud. Any suggestions for well managed events? I'd like to tour the tracks around our area - Watkins Geln, Lime Rock etc |

Am I the only one who is getting frustrated with the track events sponsored by the various F dealers and FCOA? They nearly all span three days. Where are the single day, balls out, track events? Summit Point was a tremendous last year. They allowed participation on a single day and focused on getting as many track sessions as they could squeeze out of the day. I must have spent a couple of hours on the track - great! A quick blast home and the wife and kids are happy as well. At this rate I'll have to attend Porsche events! Whatever next. |
