Kevin: Joan would let you sit on her lap, I'm sure, but won't be necessary. MONDIAL POWER!! Seats 4 (sorta). Actually, we'd probably need to bring our two cars (Mondi and the 530) whether you go or not, if my whole family wants to go, so no problem.

Hey, Barney, "great minds.." and all that. See my new thread. Yes, if you could send invites that would be great, and of course if you have connections, let's use them. My thoughts are that we meet somewhere we know (could be Applebees again) then go up the North side of the Island, hitting maybe two wineries. Then it is a short ride to the North Shelter Island Ferry. Lunch at some reasonable place on Shelter Island. South Ferry back through Sag Harbor and down the south side to finish. Photo ops all along the way. Two people per car, or otherwise assure in some way that the pilot has not partaken too much.

FChat has a search feature that is really good. Since I have the list already, I would not mind sending the invitations, else, I could send you the list. If you want me to send them, we just need to have a solid plan first. Maybe a call to a winery first and perhaps they will host us. My father has a conection I believe, so I can ask him if you want.

I remember an event the Mercedes club did a couple of years ago where they all met at this winery on the North Fork. We did the tour and had lunch (a couple of six foot heros and salads) before doing some wine tasting and tire kicking. Instead of meeting out there we could meet further West and take a nice drive out together, do the wine tour, have lunch, then swap cars for the drive home (just kidding about the swapping). Just another suggestion. Count me in.

For the ROE (Run Out East):
Looks like 3 so far. I'll try to keep track. As people express an interest, try to give as many dates that are good for you as possible.
Feel free to suggest times and routes, as well as places for pit stops. My $.02: I like the winery(s) tour idea. Up the North side, a ride on the Shelter Island Ferry, then back on the South side. Kevin, if you are in you can ride with me.

I know, it's common practice to black out the plates when you do not have permission to put an image on the website. And it is the polite thing to do.

However, I do not care. On my way to the show the traffic was soooo bad that probably more than the 3000 F-chat users have been staring at my plate and wonder what the hell this car is.

I love kids, they melt my heart.I work in the pediatric department at work, i have 672 kids that i take care of yearly, lol. Glad you brought her out though, and tell your wife she is very well-behaved, thats awesome.

Yea, getting together seems like a great idea guys, we should do it soon, let me know!! And Ed, yea, not a smart idea...alcohol and driving dont mix. We will just have to throw a party after, at ur house!!

An East run would be great!! I was thinking something like a Northfork run, check out a couple of wineries... well maybe that doesn't mix too well with driving... lol.

Sam,
A fall run out East would be a GREAT idea. No traffic out there for someone with a 365 either!!!I am open to suggestions. Drive/lunch on a Saturday or Sunday?

Dave
Don't laugh, Susanne started thinking about what my car would like like in purple a while back (her favorite color - what a surprise). I said no way but painted my VFR purple for her. Gianna wants a pink "Ferrari car" when she is 12, but wants me to paint my car red.

Nice pictures. It was great to meet you. You are always welcome to join us. Did you bring the book? I didn't get a chance to look at it. Got the fever yet????

Bonnie,
Thanks for the compliments on my daughter. She is such an awesome little girl. Sorry she was not more talkative. No air bag for me so I usually have the car seat in my Ferrari and she goes with me everywhere.

Sam - yes, I am hooked....and I certainly DID get my question answered....you folks are great! Thanks for keeping those without their own cars in mind.....one day for certain I'll be off that list.

J(6), i'm sure the pervs will be looking for Bonnie and not Rijk, but the nuts/thieves will be looking for Rijk and not Bonnie... Forget about even the car; anyone with DMV access can run his plates and get his address... Thieves often see nice cars and assume that the owners have other nice things as well...

Hey, Rijk, it was at my advice that Kevin remove the pictures and i edited out the plates for him; it's a general rule of thumb here as i'm sure you've seen... If you'd prefer i post them as they were taken, i shall; my apologies if this was a problem...

Hi: Great meeting all. Barney and Ed, thanks for organizing. Wish I had more to time to talk to everyone. It was a short night...and surprisingly cold. As I was driving home, I heard the sweet sounds a Ferrari V-12 next to me...it was Rijk!
Looks like I got my buddy Kevin hooked...expensive obsession, but worth it. He asked me if Ferrari owners were approachable. I think he got his answer. Nice group of people.
Hope to see you soon. Perhaps the NY/LI crew can organize a run though 25A or something through the Hamptons for the fall foliage? We can't forget to team up with those who are without a "car," for now (eg Kevin, DES, Bonnie) Something to keep in mind.

What a great time last night! It was great meeting you Dave, Ed, Sam, Rijk, Vernon, Kevin, Barney (your dad, daughter and lovely wife) and Bonnie. By the way, for those who were not there last night - eat your hearts out - Bonnie's hot and she's the real deal.
Its nice to spend time with a group of Tifosi who don't take themselves too seriously. We definitely HAVE to do this again. Dave, you got it right, my son's name IS Jon, and Sam, thank your buddy for coming and bringing the cigars. My hat is off to Barney and Ed for getting this organized and to Rijk for bringing the Daytona, picking up Vernon at the hotel and spending more time in the car than we spent at the show. He should get an award.

Rijk, Weren't you and Vernon cold at the show?
The heat in your car should have been a welcome relief. :-) I do agree that we should plan it for a longer day. I, for one, definately appreciate the time and effort it took for you to join us yesterday.

It was great to meat all of you, but next time we should choose a longer day.

It took me three hours to get out and two hours to get back. In the afternoon it was mostly volume and we were crawling for two hours. On the way back the LIE was completely closed for a stretch and later three lanes into one, all for construction.

It is unbelievable what LI people have to put up with. Travel time 5 hours per day?. It was clear again why I like to walk to work and drive for pleasure.

Even in all those hours of stop and go traffic the car never overheated. The driver did, since the AC is such a joke I never even bother to use it. The only problem was depletion of the battery, special at night with the lights and the fan on. Close to Manhattan, I determined to take the long way around to re-charge the battery.

Great seeing Barney and friends . . . now if only his 308 was purple. Good to meet for the 1st time Sam, Kevin, Andy and his son(John?), Bunnie, Vernon and Rijk(best sounding exhaust at the show). Had met Ed "I'll have that to go" once before for 3 seconds so I'm glad I had a chance to speak him more this time. Hope to see you all again soon. Keep it under a 100.

Wow, the pics came out great. It was really nice to meet everyone last night. Too bad it gets late so early this time of year. (didn't Yogi Berra say that once?) Everyones cars looked fantastic and what a treat to see a car like Rijk's. We definately have to try and get together more; it really is a great diversion from work etc... Now to put some names with the faces. In Barney's last post:L to R. Me, Dave, Andy, Bonnie, Barney with Gianna, Sam and his son, and Kevin.

I want to thank everyone who came down tonight. It was a pleasure to see my friends and make some new ones. I would like to pay a special thanks to Ed for doing this with me and helping me with detailing my car and Rijk for making the long trip to show with that beautiful piece of Italian artwork called a 365GTB4. Andy, your car is awesome! Sam, Dave, your cars are fantastic and we must get together for some rides while the weather is great. Dave, DONT sell!!! (Well at least until I can afford to buy my second Ferrari). Vernon, I'll see you at the USGP, it was great to meet you. Thanks to my father Vito, my wife Susanne,my daughter Gianna, and Bonnie for coming down. Enjoy.
