Mike,
Just as an FYI: the leader of the VW group(dang, I wish I could remember his name) did mention they use to do runs in the day then re-run the course at night. He did mention the club had a falling-out of sorts and no runs have been done in the last year. Sunday (26th) was the first run since they re-grouped. He also mentioned there was a "No passengers" rule.
Sounds like we have a couple of VW/German clubs here.

never impede the progress of a car trying to move foward by pressing your hands on the hood and bracing yourself. That falls under common sense. If you dont have enough power to do a burnout DONT TRY. No offense but thats how people get hurt, all for a cloud of tire smoke? how do explain that to their parents?

Clyde, the run you are talking about with all the VWs is called "Full Moon, Full Throttle" it is sponsored by AutoKrieg. I was there with my VW and it was a blast! Nothing like doing 140 on the LIE in a group of about 40 other VWs ;)

Pix and stuff here:

Remember running with the Carrera 4 on the way to LRP at speeds of 130+? Yah, that was awesome lol.

Clyde..managed to avoid rain until the very end, when there was just some drizzling. The rest went very well aside from one rough road, where i think we all hit some potholes. But the rest was a lot of fun.

Ferretti, i was there, i dont know if it was coincedence or not, but they have been doing similar runs for a while. Apparently they knew nothing of your plans, and when i mentioned Ferrari and Vipers, they just seemed confused. I went out with them in the TT, i was driving in Clyde's group. A pretty good drive overall.

I don't remember the guy's name in charge. Sorry. There were two groups of cars. One with 6, the other with seven. Ran up around Tuxedo NY area...17, 17a, 72, etc. I'd have to look at a map for the course. I was a bit too occupied to take notes. lol In my group 2 Audi TT, 2 VW, 1 Mercedees and my 308. They did comment this is the largest turn-out & mix they've ever had. They do want to keep the rallys small so as not to attract attention.

They had the run. I was the 308 there. IT is a German car club and German run: mainly volkswagens. They did let me tag alone on what was a wonderfully spirited run. I left at the first stop an hour into the run. Bottomed out 1 too many times :-(

I was just up at Montvale and there were maybe 12 cars there. 2 Boxters, 2 WRX's counting mine, a MB C230 hatchback, some VW's, and a S2000. There was one Ferrari there, and 308 GTB. When are we having the real run?

Granted, the Stradale is probably not here yet, but what happened to your other supercars?

Hey Dave:

Like Rob said, you could ride with someone if you want, althought I do not know if you want to personally do that but anyway come and join us. Believe me, some of us will not be going as fast as they are all the time. I am a wuss for speeding tickets as well especially since I have never gotten one (knock on wood!!!!).

the crew usually consists of mostly vipers, c5's, MKIV supra's, few porsches, a few ferrari's, Lotus's, 3rd gen rx7's...pretty much any fast fun high end car... Its a cruise mostly but we always go out to dinner afterwards. Usually the outback or something. Meeting montvale rest are on the garden state parkway between exits 171 and 172 at 12:30. Be sure to bring your camera

Sounds like great fun, but I've spent enough on tickets and lawyers in the past two years to do another 15K service on one of my cars.

No doubt, my luck is that I'd get caught for sure, V1 or not... unless one of you knows something I don't?

Do you guys go north from there or south. I would like to go for a ride around NYC or points north. I would introduce a little german engineering to the mix.

The one last spring, and the one last december were great. They've been getting low turnouts though since then, which is a shame. hopefully this one will be big and everyone will have a fun, safe time. I cant make it though, im way too busy with school, and i have a race that saturday in saratoga, which i might not even participate in if this hernia gets any worse.
just make sure to get alot of vids.
If oct. 26th is a sunday, i might be able to go if bosco wants to pick me up, which i doubt he will.

So on October 26th we're going to have another fun run same meeting place at the garden state parkway rest area in montvale 12:30 pm Billy, hutch, Tim Kenny, and a few others on this board have been on a few, and its always a good time. any more questions feel free to ask, dont come if you dont like to drive fast :-)
