Tim, as posted in the other topic, the seller has scared me away from this particular car. I'm keeping my eyes open though, I fell in love with the 2500M while researching it.

2 years is no big deal for the v8. The only problem is that if it wasnt ran at all, the dry start wouldnt be the best for the engine, but thats why i'd take the distributor off and prime the oil pump to get oil around the engine if it were my car.

Dave, emailed the seller and found out that he didn't mention that the car has been sitting for 2 years since his wife got a new Corvette. Two things wrong with that, unless properally stored, you know there has to be problems with that car and, a girl was previously driving it lol.

Dave, I love that car on ebay but don't really know anything about classic American muscle- what car was the 302 V8 from? Reliable? Does the car seem clean? Any advice to ask the seller?

Kenny, looks interesting. My problem with these V8 conversions is the balance of the car. Many just stuff it in and never consider how it will effect the handling. It will contend as a stop light drag machine if that's what you want. Again, as I mentioned earlier, the originals were severly underpowered.

M cars - the chrome bumpered cars look so much better - in perfect original condition can be had for under 12K,

Also, Dave, what do you think of this?

Dave, when you say "some" work do you mean it looks like Roland Linders F40 before he completed its transformation or CountachXX's 512tr before it was turned into a race car?

Kenny, the 2500 has the Triumph TR6 drivetrain in it. I believe the car for sale is a rare hybred 2500, has the Tuscan body(used on all Vixens) with the newer M chassis (less than 100 built). The car needs some work.

Dave, As soon as I hit the bridge it opened up...lol. After that it wasn't too bad. I discovered a feature that my car has which up until now I never needed.... windshield wipers! My car didn't look that bad at all when I got home. Nothing an hour of "quality time" didn't cure. Well what the hell, my daughter's soccer game did get cancelled , so what else was I going to do?
Hopefully there will be better weather next time.

Dave,

What's the difference between a 2500 and a Vixen? I'm always "in the market" for a cool little British car so sure, if you find anything please let me know.

Not a bad day. The ride back was a little wet. Ed your wife was right, it was pouring. My car needed to be cleaned anyway.

Kenny, Jim's car is a 70 Vixen(he put a modified weber head, Lotus T/C(145hp) in it 20+ years ago) I have a 69 Vixen with a modified SOHC 2.0 liter Ford(170hp). Both motors help these cars out tremendously, as they were severly underpowered with the 1600 Kent motor(88bhp). If you are still interested, I might know of a 2500 for sale.

Great shots, love the TVR 2500 (?)- I was in the market for one this summer but unfortunately couldn't find one that really caught my eye.

Great pictures. Thanks for sharing them. Kudos to you Ed and to Dave for bringing your cars out this morning. It was great to see you guys along with Barney and Jim (TVR). Dave's E-Type is spectacular to say the least. I really felt bad for leaving the car home after seeing that Dave had taken the Jag out in the grey damp weather. Maybe his car was happy - thinking it was back in England?

If Barney has to live with the name Gimpy for a couple of day, I guess I can live with Wimpy :-) See you all next time - hopefully we'll get a sunny Sunday soon. Have a great week.

Hi Ed, Gimpy here. Nice pics! Dave's Jag was awesome. Someday when I grow up, I'm gonna be a 12 cylinder car.

Hi Ed: Thanks for the pics. I would have loved to be there, but maybe next time. Take care of that beautiful Mondi...my next car will be a 3.2. If you are selling in 3-5 years... let's talk!

We didn't have a great turnout today due to the weather, but Dave W. and I took our cars out anyway. He drove his Jag (wow!) and we also met his friend Jim in his TVR. A couple of guys Dave knew showed up in 360's also. There were a bunch of vettes and other misc. cool cars straggling in here and there. Barney (aka: Gimpy) and Andy made cameo appearance without their 308s, even though one of them lives really close. (I won't mention any names, but his initials are A.F. :-) ). Anyway.... Here are some pictures I took:
