So, according to another thread (http://www.ferrarichat.com/forum/showthread.php?t=179088) this is the same one used on the "Cannonball Run". Is this correct?
Sorry for bringing up this old post but this car is set for the block at Mecum's Kissimmee auction in 2016. Question is, why the heck would they paint it yellow and put tan seats in when the movie car was Nocciola with Black....SMH - Dino registry also claims this car was red between the transition to yellow.
Pure guess on my part: Early 89 - Car is gold and black and kinda tired looking. late 89- Let's repaint it red so we can get more money, and oh, leather is tired, tan will look better with red, so let's do that. Mid 90 - Crap, we missed the market, let's park this thing and complain some Early 2000 - some one buys it and wants yellow, maybe because the red was done in a rushed manner, and since no miles are on it, leaves the basically new interior in it. Now we have Yellow/Tan, perfectly awaits it's new owner and who really know what lies beneath..... It could be a great car that has been redone recently, no idea. However, this scares me: 2001, September, offered at eBay/Kruse Fall Auburn Auction, Auburn, IN: "Yellow/Tan & Black. Cosmetic restoration, 2- condition. Not sold at hammer bid of $65,000. Chairs and flares, correct wide Campagnolo alloy wheels, a/c. Claimed to be factory chairs & flares equipped. Good paint and interior, window weather felts worn and windows rattle. Filler behind right front wheel, windshield scratched by misadjusted wiper. Old undercoat on chassis. (Ric Carey, FML 2621)." That's from the Sheehan history notes. Wouldn't seem a car lik this would generate more than just a "Good" paint and interior note?
Now, if you believe the above could have had happened, then look below. My guess is multiple records on multiple cars being crossed, or even worse, someone being creative. Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
