A friend of mine is a photographer and took this picture back in the day. I thought everyone would like to see it. Finished 17th overall and 9th in class.

    You have a PM.

    I have researched eight cars:

    1. 206 GT, Black, 1969 Sebring 12 hrs, NART for Sam Posey & Bob Dini. Chassis number and location unknown.

    2. 246 GT, Green, 1971 Nurburgring 1000 kms, International Racing Club / Komusin & Mullers. Chassis number and location unknown.

    3. 246 GT, Red, 1971 Targa Florio. Chassis number and location unknown.

    4. 246 GT, Red, 1972 Le Mans, NART for Doncieux / Laffeach. #02678 and owned by Court Whitlock in the USA for many years.

    5. 246 GT, Yellow, 1972 Mont Ventoux, Karl Richardson. #02732 in UK.

    6. 246 GT, 1973 Trans Am Championship, Centrum International. Chassis number and location unknown but thought to be East Coast, USA, having spent some time in Japan.

    7. 246 GT, White, 1975 Giro d'Italia. Chassis number and location unknown.

    8. 246 GTS, White, 1975 Canonball Run, 1st. #05984 and still with the original owner, Jack May, in Florida.

I am still seeking period pictures of the Giro d'Italia car.

If anyone knows of any others or has any photographs of any of these cars, old or new, then please either post them here or email me: [email protected].

    Thanks.

Hardly proper competition Mark don't you think?

I don't feel that should be counted.

    just my deux centimes.

    Dear Marc

    Thanks for the 2 cents.

It was Ben Tyer at qv500.com (see here: http://www.qv500.com/ferraridinop6.php) that originally listed it and I too thought like you to begin with.

Then I went away and thought about it and concluded that the Canonball was a genuine competitive event against the clock. So the car should be included.

    Ok fair enough!

Regarding that Dino spyder at Le Mans...I hope they had something entertaining to read (just kidding) or some other way to keep busy going down the Mulsanne: it took 60 seconds at 300kph (5 kilometers) so at their speed what would it be around 80 seconds just sitting there?!!

    best regards,

    Marc

Another 246 GT during a race in France in 1972. The name of the pilot was CLEMENT. The photo is from the French magazine Sport-Auto/1972. If somebody has them, take a look... I didn't keep mine.
