Can someone tell me the proper wheel bolt torque settings for the 246, standard cast wheels?

Owners guide (under the section Jacking Up The Car) says to tighten the bolts to 9kgm, which equals 65lbft

Discussed to death in other sections and the 246 is no different. About 73-75 foot pounds.

That's significantly over what my manual says.

The point is why would you apply more torque than what the owners manual explicitly states?

9kgm or 65.09712465 ft lbs or failing access to a torque wrench.....as tight as you can with the wrench spanner..either way is preferrable than hand tight

The point is that you are very safe in the 65-75 lb/ft range and will find yourself perfectly within the design parameters of the bolts and wheel rims. Outside of this range and you are likely to end up like this guy:

That's funny, although probably not for the owner. But I think that meeting the factory stated value is also ok. Besides, I don't run my Dino thru cones.

I bought neat color-coded Koken (Japanese) wheel nut sockets for the Dino and the other cars I have, and thought I would put labels with the torque setting on each. This is a 19mm socket; the Dino's 22mm socket is yellow. They're great to use.

Accordingly, I revisited this thread for the torque rate for the Dino. The other threads mentioned above deal with other models and some suggestions don't cite any basis or authority. So I'm going with the manual's 65 lb.ft. Coincidentally, the Stratos manual specifies the same torque setting - 9 kg.m.
