    I need to know the former and equivalent references of these relays present on L-series.

    I think to know that former relay on the left was 6RA 33252

    The one on the center 26RA 33231

    But I have not the reference of the one on the right side, and their modern equivalent.

    Thx.

    Lucas SRB 501 is the modern reference but the casing is the newer plastic type.
    Lucas SRB 143 and 146 have the original metal casing and five instead of three terminals but should work the same way as 33232D.

    I don't have a 33232D in the archive to take a look at it unfortunately.

    If you're sourcing replacements, there were a large number of 6RA variants that basically look the same from the outside, just with different numbers stamped on the metal casing. Some will have extra terminals that don't affect basic operation. If you don't care about matching the part number exactly, then the key difference you need to be aware of is whether the relay was designed for continuous duty or not. Fan and lighting relays were; starter and horn relays were not. So using a lighting relay to drive a horn application is fine, but the reverse is not.

    Thank you very much Adrian and Mark.

    I think I've found 33231 & 33232.

    But I have not any clue about sourcing 33252...

    According to my trusty Lucas catalog, 33252 was superseded by 33293? You should be able to find either on eBay. Otherwise in the UK you could try Holden or Brown & Gammon. In the US, Sports & Classics in Stamford CT might have them.

    My Euro M-series (#01712) order is as follows, which confirms Mark's 33252->33293 replacement note:

    Left=Lucas 6RA 33293D
    Center=Lucas 6RA 33231E
    Right=Lucas 6RA 33232E

    33252 is a standard NO (normal open) relay, so you could either use SRB111 or SRB113.
    Both are available in a metal or neoprene case finish so make sure you get the metal one.

    Adrian, can old Lucas relays be tested before installation, and now that they are apart (refinishing of the plating), is there preventive maintenance that can be performed before reassembly?

    Regards, Alberto

    You an measure the switching terminals resistance with a Multimeter set to ohm (Ω), terminals which are closed should have less than one ohm resistance. Activate the relay by applying +12V to the coil when you do the measurements so you also know if the coil is good.

    There is not much maintenance required i clean the switch contacts with a good industrial contact cleaner for electronic components (Kontakt 60 is excellent, avoid WD40 as it won't get rid of the oxidation and it leaves residue on the contacts) and a toothbrush.
