So as not to hi-jack the "falling prices" thread, let me start this one on good garage companions for our Dinos. The 2000GT was already suggested, so let me post this photo of one of the examples here. The owner has a yellow 246GTS.

Its lines will complement those of the Dino.

    Beautiful in white.

That xk120 in the background is a good choice too.

I also think an early 911 is an excellent companion.

I had an alfa junior zagato until last year but now have a defender 110 station wagon. As I keep pet pigs have three kids and other pets, it means the dino doesnt haul much hay and straw !

My dream is a muira, but I hear they drive like trucks vs dinos !

I've had a Pagoda to accompany the Dino for the past 30 years. Reliable, much better than the Dino for jumping into for trips around town - and with almost as much charisma.

Miura's drive like trucks? Clearly you have never driven one, they are twelve cylinder snarling beasts and the later cars handle beautifully. A Dino feels like a go kart in comparison.

almost everything must drive like a truck compared to a dino. a friend sold his 330gtc because he said it drove like a truck compared to his dino.

I've always believed that the 330 GTC and the Dino are the two most sublime driving vintage Ferrari. Looking beyond Maranello I like the 1974-75 ROW Porsche 2.7 MFI Carrera. It has the same engine as the 2.7 RS, weighs slightly more and is a fraction of the price.

I would think you'd want a different experience than the Dino. A dino is light, the seating position is low and snug/car rides low to the ground and handles very well.

So maybe something more vintage in feel? XK150 (easier to drive/sit in than an XK120-40); Aston Martin DB4-6; Ace Aceca; Austin Healy?

    Or GT? Aston Martin V8 Vantage; BMW 3.0cs/csi/csl; MB 280se 3.5;

Or a cool sedan? Maserati Quattroporte; MB 300sel 6.3

A british TV series from the early seventies might have been an influence in our selection of of a companion for the Dino, or was it the other way round?

Well I am an interloper because my Dino is a 308 GT4 but its companion car is a 1967 light metallic blue Elan drophead which keeps me happy.

Today I drove my friend's Stratos! A life long dream finally fullfilled! I think it is the perfect alter ego to the Dino!

I think these two are an interesting comparison. Sergio Pininfarina designed what is probably the most beautiful midengined car ever, but Tom Tjaarda also did a masterful job on the Pantera. These cars were contemporaries in the marketplace, but the Dino is obviously a 1960's car while the Pantera is clearly a 1970's or later design.

When my Abarth and Dino are in the same garage I feel like I've stepped back in time.
Oh, to have lived in Italy and had the Dino as a daily driver and raced the Abarth on the weekends!!

Great colors on both BUT is that a black 575M SA on the side I see!

PS - Ribbed floor coverings are so practical

Yes it is. Love the SA. My 3rd in a progression of Maranellos. It's a great GT.

Love this thread. The Pantera with the Dino..other pariings....and Freeman drove a Stratos...that car is a screamer. One blew by me in my fairly loud [tubi] SA at Amelia. My car was muted while the Stratos literally shrieked. How can I make my Dino sound like that?
