I know that a Dino looks good in any color...having said that, I found black to be an infuriating color. Strikingly beautifully when dressed up, a showroom colour (english car), but so easy to smear the mascara. Embarrassing to arrive anywhere always looking like it needed a wash

I had a black classic car for a long time - as you say, it's a wonderful color as long as you keep it perfectly clean and are very careful about scratches. You also need perfect bodywork - every single ripple, ding, and paint imperfection will show. But if you have the bodywork and keep it clean, it looks like a mirror. With the Dino's curves, it would be beautiful in black.

every imperfection shows up in the cold light of day, but just ambling down town with lights bouncing off those black curves it just looks amazing.

Rita Hayworth was quoted as saying
They go to bed with Gilda and wake up with me.......
    wait..maybe that's a different story....

One of the (many) reasons I sold the black car was that I got too paranoid driving it around worrying about rock chips, door dings, etc, and I got too tired of keeping it as clean as it needed to be to look right.

I've had my black Dino for almost 30 years. I never wished for another color - black shows the lines beautifully and fulfills my childhood dream of driving the bat mobile.

Keeping the paint looking good isn't hard, so long as you are not obsessive. The car looks fabulous even when there's a slight haze of dust.

I thought about painting my GT black but a friend of mine who does a lot of photo work in an official capacity for Ferrari said that black obscures the lines and mutes the curves. I didn't really think of it that way before but I think that he may be right. It's all up to individual tastes of course....

I have had several black cars and best I can suggest is that if you do not like black then do not buy a black car. I know with certain classic cars (i.e. corvettes) an original black car will bring about a 75% premium . THis is primarily because when new this was by far the rarest color (mid 60s corvette). They require more work look good when clean not so good when dirty.

Hello, black looks great in person on almost any car when clean and straight. However for pictures there terrible as it hides the lines. That's why you rarely see a Black car on the cover of a magazine unless that's all they got for that model. Just my humble opinion, thanks guys Norm

See how you notice the Yellow car first, LOl.

Apples to oranges. There is no car in the second picture.

    Trick question?

I had a black flare and chair Dino with tan Daytonas / black inserts.
An absolutely gorgeous Dino. SN 08318 that is now fly yellow. IMHO looked much better with original black Nero
