The rebuild of 206GT (chassis 00152) following its restoration will be commencing soon. I will try & update progress on a regular basis.

The short video below shows the completed painted shell in Rosso Dino with the corrected lower front clip air in takes.

Is this the 0152's original colour? It looks very red, not orange. My eyes probably.

Yes, it does look very red on the video inside & under the sodium lights. I used my trackday HD bullet cam to record the footage.

However, the colour is correct (Arancio tipo PF) It has also been checked against the car's original found inside the car.

It is more orange when viewed outside, under normal lighting. I will upload better photos later, but I have attached below several photos taken with a camera which gives a more realistic idea of its true colour.

Rebuilding my 206 GT (chassis 0152) is well underway....(it should be fully completed within the next two weeks)

I thought I would update progress thus far, starting with 0152's comprehensive engine & transmission rebuild which was completed some time ago by specialists. Several smaller parts had to be manufactured as they are no longer available.

This thread will be very photo heavy, I'm not sure the correct protocol for uploading large quantities of photos in a thread or even if anyone's really that interested in seeing them.

As I am having 4 Dino's currently restored, each to the same high standards as 00152, I won't bore you with similar photo's for each of the other cars unless there's interest. I'm afraid I'm always very busy & re-scaling, uploading & looking through several thousand photos & replying to comments will be very time consuming, so bare with me!

I will try to upload photos & reply to any comments as & when I have time.

We are all nerds here and love this type of stuff.

I am speaking for myself, but most likely others, too, but please take the time and show us as much as you can bare....

What are the chassis #'s of the other cars and what level of redo are you undertaking?

    Shawn

    Hi Shawn,

My Dino's are GT's. Chassis numbers are:

    #00152, Arancio tipo PF - nero 161
    #01356, Blu Scuro Dino 20-A-357 - beige 430
    #05614, Azzurro Metallizzato 106-A-32 - NERO VM8500
    #06514, Argento Auteuil Metallizzato 106-E-1 - nero 16

All cars are being restored to exactly the same standard & to factory specification with no modern updates. All interiors, parts & components where possible are being retained in their original condition or sympathetically refurbished. All mechanical parts renewed or overhauled as required throughout. Originality, quality & attention to detail is important to me, so please feel free to let me know if anything is not as it should be.

I will try & update on a regular basis, time allowing.

    Max

Now....I look at Claptons beautiful paint job and note the colour is just as mine was before I put her in for a paint job....now mine looks very cherry red but I havnt seen her in the flesh yet..only photographs as the paint shop is some distance away....and I note people are saying Claptons looks too red....
My paint shop tells me that the colour of my new body is Rosso Dino 29 R 350 but now it's painted that looks very red...they say they got the paint number from records...
So ..my question is .....is dear Eric's car Rosso Dino 29 4 350 or not...because I want what he has ( had ) ....is that lovely orange peel, colour the number I talk of.....or could they have mixed it wrongly.......just what colour code is the Orange peel...????

Rosso Dino is extremely hard to photograph accurately so if you haven't seen the car in person you may be worrying for nothing. Both camera and screen resolution can distort the colour significantly. Lighting also plays a critical role. In strong direct sunshine Rosso Dino looks orange but in twilight it looks red.

Here are spray outs of Rosso Dino next to Rosso Chiaro and Verde Germoglio. Next to Chiaro it looks orange but even in these two photo's you can see how hard it is to capture as there was more direct sunlight on both colours in the second picture and they appear much closer in terms of colour shades than they do in the first photo.

Does the Dino from the factory use more than 1 type of hose clamp style?

Is the worm gear clamp factory correct?

The 206 and 246 "L" use a combination of Cheney clamps (worm) and Angst clamps (spring). There are a few clamp types that can be found on the car as well. The parts book covers this in great detail.

    This car is looking great.
