It was the full price including premium. It's a left hand drive car that is not a top example. The sills have been repaired for instance and are not the correct shape and are missing the vertical seam. Bonhams : Ferrari Classiche certified,1973 Ferrari Dino 246GTS Chassis no. 06176 Engine no. 10898
Serial Number: 8454 Engine Number: 8454 I thought Dinos didn't have matching chassis and engine numbers.
"Chassis number '06176' benefits from several very desirable upgrades including modern air conditioning, lead-free cylinder head conversion, stainless steel exhaust, twin rear-view mirrors" What BS. What "modern air conditioning" are they referring to?
I meant what brand. I know you can get AC installed in American muscle cars but had never heard of anyone doing that to a Dino
I have seen a couple done here in Houston that use York materials and blow through standard Dino vents. For the first time ever, I had to turn down the a/c in a Dino. It wasn't cheap, but it solved the problem and wasn't hardly even noticeable.
Was the A/C factory or dealer installed back in the day? I had a Texas VW Karmann Ghia with DPD A/C. I'm assuming back then it was mostly a US market thing.
You guys are not discussing anything relevant to this auctions thread...how about splitting off into a Dino AC thread?
7 total so far: Looks like one more was added to Gooding, Bonhams added some details on 06464, Mecum has two Dinos and the Russo & Steele website has no info on lots yet: Estimate: $425,000 - $500,000 Chassis: 07976 1974 Ferrari 246 Dino GTS | Gooding & Company 1973 FERRARI DINO 246GTS Coachwork by Scaglietti - Design by Pininfarina Chassis no. 06464 *Recent nut-and-bolt restoration *Exquisite condition in and out *Desirable Chairs and Flairs GTS specification *Black with Tabacco colored interior from new *Delivered new to the US through Modern Classic Motors Bonhams : 1973 FERRARI DINO 246GTS Chassis no. 06464 Year 1973 Make Ferrari Model Dino 246 GTS Engine 2418 CC Trans 5-Speed Color Red Interior Black VIN/SERIAL 07328 http://www.mecum.com/lot-detail.cfm?lot_id=CA0814-190690 Color Yellow Interior Beige/black VIN/SERIAL 05800 http://www.mecum.com/lot-detail.cfm?lot_id=CA0814-191287 No auction lots yet? http://russoandsteele.com/index.php/monterey-auction/monterey-auction-site
And rather uninformed too (Mecum)...there were Euro GTS's too. "Built solely for America from 1972-1974, the GTS replaced the GTs small rear sail panel windows with triple louvres, and of course, the top comes off."
I just saw this car today. Rediculously priced, underpowered, and not a Ferrari. I sure would like one when the next downturn occurs.
The car is in Yreka, Ca. A place called TNT body shop. It is a European car. There is a little Bondo in the right rear quarter and the car is in green tinted primer. The cosmetics of engine look like it may be a low mile engine. I understand there was damage to the front end, due to the garage parking skills of its previous owner. Evidently, the car was painted red at one time and it is being repainted in its original green. It seems pretty straight other than some right side door margin issues but that may be due to old work at the right front fender.
