I bought this set of books and tools from an advertiser in Hemmings back in 2001. I believe I spent about $3,000, including the jack and chock which I know to be real. Took them to Cavallino in '02 then packed them away. No judge commented on the tools or books as far as I know. Recently saw some of the prices on Ebay so I unearthed them and took a good look at what I bought. Note that I knew NOTHING about Ferraris back in 2001 (other than the fact that I always wanted one), and less about the Dino, and websites like this one and others were in their infancy. So could anyone tell me if I got the real deal or just some old junk?

Tools: I seem to be missing a wrench. I have 3, believe I should have 4. No manufacturer's stamp on wrenches.
Screwdrivers: I have 2 but the plastic handles are fluted and they look brand new compared to the other tools. No manufacturer's stamp.
    Pliers: No manufacturer's stamp.
    Spark plug tool-OK
    Distributor key-??
Window winder: I think this is the wrong one for a GTS. Looks to be from an earlier series.
Jack and wheel chock (no pic) I know to be authentic, but no bag was included.

Books: Looks pretty complete to me, but I don't really know what "complete" is.

    Looks legit to me..

The early screwdrivers are correct, no label, as are the pliers..looks good to me.

That cross key is a carb tool, for the trumpets in the air box.

Dinos only get the three wrenches...

Maybe Tom S. will chime in!!

What year is your car? They vary from series/year.

The Key Fob is a recreation. Everything else looks really nice. You are missing the 8/10 wrench and you can see where it used to live by looking at the vinyl besides the other wrenches.

That warranty card is the only irreplaceable item.

    Keep it in a vault.

If he bought the set, it isn't for his car.

    What serial number is for?

Mostly a '71-'72 original pouch/kit but the dealer directiry is a '68 and worth $1500+ by itself.
So mostly complete but not all consistent, USA manual added?
An early E-series 246 GT would mostly fit. Power windows with the winder tool.

Nice set. Depending on which Dino you have, the pouch may also be wrong.

Either way, you've saved yourself about $15-20k on today's prices.

My car is a '74 GTS. Spark plug wrench is wrong? I actually use it to get at the plugs on the backside of the carbs. Works fine. So I'm missing the 8/10 wrench, and according to Rob my pouch is for an earlier car.
What should the correct screwdrivers look like?

These are what your tools should look like. Notice the different shape of the screwdrivers as well as the different spark plug wrench.

The manual set is largely incorrect for a 74, but the contents are all good pieces. Shouldn't be too difficult to swap for the correct stuff.

The flat top screwdrivers are out of a 365 kit I believe... I've seen a couple of Dino kits floating around with these in them over the years. All original of course ;-)

    Umm....

    Yeah....

I have to admit, when I first viewed this thread, it was on my phone and scrolling fast...

After reviewing in a format on my computer, this isn't a bad set of stuff, but there are things that aren't correct. There are also things that can be offset for the "differences"...

The 68 directory is the easiest to make stuff right.
