Coys of Kensington I see an E-series Dino on these pictures.... Anybody in London who can identify the body no.?
I may have misunderstood your posting Matthias. Are you looking for the body number stamped on the interior pieces and various chrome bits or the chassis? If the former, sorry for posting the obvious. Kind regards, Keith
Interesting they are selling a left hand drive car from Germany in the UK. Anyone understand the logic of that?
no body no. in the boot hinges unfortunately.... apparently Coys has no tools to look at the coolant water tank mounting.... E-series gearbox in the car, I was told.... clearly not M-series #01514.... be careful... don`t buy without Ferrari Classiche certificate... ;-)
Not at all unusual. Third LHD I can think of without looking this year. Think of London as a global city that just happens to be in the UK and you'll not be far wrong.
The metal plate with the VIN no. looks like E-Series and not like "M". The description says it has a FIVA ID Card. I will try to find out more by my FIVA contacts
All present documents have been from 1995 and after - From this time was the old german title. at this time it already had this VIN number. I'm pretty sure the car was original a late E-Series like it looks. The condition of the body seemed to be very good all gaps matching. The painting was all around about 500mmm - quiet good, too. Even on the engine lid were it is nearly always more. The interior was light nice patina and seemed to be original. Old belts were present, too. If there wouldn't be this number chaos (VIN sure wrong, gearbox early E, body number not present or no chance to check, I would have been the highest bidder probably - Car quality was good, engine just rebuilt and some mechanical work done in Germany for 35.000 Euro. At least the buyer bought a car that should be a pleasure to drive. For the value of the car not so sure.... It's a petty that Coys didn't want to hear about and was not very helpful - I told them already hours before the auction, there would be the chance to find out the real number and story of the car, but they were not interested in. In the auction they mentioned nothing about. Maybe the car had a interesting life, too......
Not the first time, for Coys... although their previous response was much better than this time round. http://www.ferrarichat.com/forum/206-246/457370-dino-246-gt-2252-coys-auction-n%FCrburgring.html However, their previous response resulted in a no-sale, perhaps they tried to avoid that now.
