Hello friends, I need a Heat Exchanger for my Dino 246 M-serie, can anyone help me ?.
Have you tried Maranello Classic parts in the UK (www.ferrariparts.co.uk). I think the part number you need is 240653 and their website says they do not have any. However when I need one for my E-series they had these in stock (same part I think). The new part was manufactured by FIM and was almost identical to the original. In fact I had to give them my original one in exchange, and this was so they could send it back to FIM to be rebuilt.
Johan, Matthias may be able to confirm the differences in the heat exchangers from M to E series. He lists different models of exchanger in the Compendium for each car. I know the early E series cars had exchangers made from brass whilst the later cars had steel version which were/are prone to corrosion. If the later E series type fits the M series cars then Superformance stock an excellent quality reproduction made from stainless steel (item 24610205 Cooling System Parts for Ferrari 206 & 246 - Superformance). If you want it to look like the original finish you will need to have it powder coated in black. They also list the original item but that was out of stock when I needed one a few months ago with no indication of when they might become available again but it's worth asking them. GTO Engineering also stock FIM products so it may be worth contacting them to see if they can help you out. Their website is GTO Engineering They don't list items for the Dino on there but were able to supply me with a new FIM expansion tank for my GTS. GTO Engineering may be the best place to ask then as they appear to have acquired the technical drawings from FIM who are no longer in business. They may be able to make a new M series heat exchanger if they have the relevant drawings Tour Auto News and FIM Radiators in Production | GTO Engineering
to all, thanks, super, I have some work to do now, I will keep you informed, really great this, Johan.
