I've got a clutch pedal sitting on the floor with no resistance. Does any one have an opinion as to how likely it would be the fulcrum broken as opposed to the cable. I suppose I'm asking has anyone heard of a fulcrum breaking or are they pretty much bullet-proof?
    Thanks Chris

It is a long shot but has your clutch pedal return spring broken?
If so your clutch cable may be OK. Open the front bonnet, remove the plastic batchboard and look at it in the pedal box.
It happened to me, the spring broke at the fixture hole.

Thanks. Would I still feel some resistance if it was the pedal spring?

Can someone help with info on clutch pedal please. Does the pedal have a return spring attached or does the helper spring by the clutch housing do the returning job?
    Thanks in advance.

    No.
When mine broke I had to slip my foot underneath it to return the pedal

Thanks, at the pedals I can only see one spring and that seems to be attached to the brake pedal. Does the helper spring at the clutch housing return the clutch pedal to up off the floor?
    Thanks in advance. Chris

Clutch does have a return spring at the pedal. Clearly visible and explained in Synchros post above where he posted a detailed photo of the assembly.

Mine broke just like that. The cable snapped. The cable should snap before the fulcrum.

Once you replace it you'll be shocked at how good the feel is.

There are 2 return springs right? One at the pedal (as shown in the photo from Syncro ) and one at the bell housing. My pedal spring broke a few years back (got a new one from GT Parts) but the clutch still worked (just felt "funny"). The bell housing retun spring was doing the work...

    Cheers

The helper spring under the hood does the job. To adjust it correct it a kind of science as the spring has at first to give some resistance by pushing the pedal and after a specific point it supports. The correct angle of the 90 degree lever has to be adjusted by the length of the clutch cable with the connecting end in the front and in the back. If you do it wrong it e.g. keeps the pedal to the ground or you may have the clutch always pushed a bit.
