Of course we know that the Dino is beautiful. But sometimes I am surprised when I see the car and taken aback by how beautiful it is. That was true at this morning's club meeting. The Alfa Romeo Spider is of course beautiful, too, but the Dino is in a different league. Perhaps it was also the color of the Alfa, which set off the Dino blue so beautifully. My apologies for this effusive post.

I often think the same thing, Andy. After 39 years owning the same Dino, I am amazed each time I uncover it by the timeless beauty of the design. It almost seems as though it was designed as sculpture, with locomotion an added plus. I can't think of another car in my experience about which that statement could be made. One car that does come close (for me, anyway) is the Lamborghini Miura. Love the photo, Andy. Regards, Fred

Yes, that is true. We who have the car are so lucky. It is so beautiful.

Yes, the Miura is quite striking, too, Fred, and it surprises one with its looks no matter how many times one has seen it.

    Best,

    Andy

This really is a subtle, yet striking, contrast of two great cars. No doubt that the Dino has a beauty that's unique.

The prices are in a different league too!
both are among the most beautiful cars ever.

I had an Alfa Spider in the late seventies when i was 19!
It was a rusty old one but it felt and looked like a supercar to me.

I'm happy you like the shop, Tony. l did clean it up for the shoot, and it does look better in pictures than up close!

That is not a work shop.... that is a clean room. I would guess that very little "work" goes on there.

No, I don’t weld, paint (with other than spray cans), or do bodywork there, Velocetwo, and I don’t really want to do any more ground-up restorations, so I suppose you can say no real work is done there. But I do all my repairs and maintenance of the older cars in that workshop and some light fabrication.

It’s the third workshop I’ve had, not counting the one in my mother’s home, so they’ve evolved through the years. Ultimately, I decided I wanted an uncluttered workshop. It makes the work – a hobby really – pleasurable.

Gorgeous but must be a pain to keep clean. I'm acquiring a space in a new venture for car storage and will need to decide how to finish the concrete floor (i.e., polished, epoxy, etc).

What is your floor surface material and do you have some insight on maintenance, etc?

Good to see some oil spilled and work going on, I assumed it was just another showroom garage built for the ego of another exotic owner that never gets his hands dirty.

    Thanks, Jez. Veloce.

Ron, a white floor I find easier to keep clean than any other color, and it has the advantage of looking clean (grey can look grungy). It will also brighten up the garage. I have a very light grey floor in our “commuter-car” garage; the difference in brightness is surprising.

The workshop has an epoxy floor, and in the US there are specialists who will lay this for you. My parking area uses tile. You can use either one (some high-end brands require tile for their dealer workshops). Both are good, although ultimately I would probably use tile throughout.

Here is a photo that shows both floors. It keeps the work mess from spilling over to the parking area.
