I had an esteemed guest at my shop last week, no other than the author of my well used Dino Compendium. We are discussing 07574 which I recently acquired as being a very rare Euro Flared Spyder. Approximately 15 Euro Spyders with flares. What makes this one more unique is it's original rare color of Azzuro. I've always been looking for a Dino just like this, no AC, no power windows, flares, unique color, it's perfect. Originally sold in Belgium, hence the orange indicator lenses. This will get the full treatment at some point and back to it's original color.

    Jon,

As much as you know I love super cool and rare stuff, any idea if this was a customer order or a dealer order?

Based on selections, I would guess customer, but have to ask.

#07574 was delivered very late 1974 (build Dec. 1973)... doesn`t look like costumer selection...
or maybe selected in late 1973 by the initial client and cancelled, not sold for one year...

    Matthias,

You know I have no disrespect for you/I/history.......

We ALL love Dino and the history of this rare Marque.

I have a random question, which I guess no one can answer, about a car liked this:

Was it ordered from the factory for a client?

Was it ordered to this exact spec?

Was there a heavy order backlog for this spec?

    I don't think so...

Shawn, Euro model production stopped in Dec. 1973, apart from 3 Dinos in Jan. 1974...
the reason was the oil crisis and US-model production went on for another half a year
many Euro Dinos didn`t sell for up to two years, this was one of these cars...

I'm happy to have as a keeper. A worthy companion to my 206. There were 15 Euro Spyders with flares. This was third from the last.

Original Dino Azzuro is incredible - Wow. A true 70's color that is now being re-used by Porsche and Ferrari and others, and is as stunning now as back when it was first used.

Chevy more than Ford blatantly copied Ferrari numerous times but Ford took this Ferrari color for their own

For some reason both the chrome accent bits and black rubber are striking in this color.

There was a Dino in the color with all the chrome blacked out. It was in the Pacific NW some years back. It wasn't something I would ever do, but it looked pretty cool.

Just saw this color on an Ebay ad, a dealers ad and in a forum post when it has been rare for decades.
Great choice on a chance to revive a scarce one!
