Early start for this thread, but why wait? Gooding: 1973 Ferrari Dino 246GT, Chairs and Flares, #05690, Yellow/Black Estimate: $450,000 - $525,000 1973 Ferrari Dino 246 GT | Gooding & Company
Russo & Steele: 1973 Ferrari Dino 246 GTS, #????, Red/Tan Daytona seats Estimate: None provided https://russoandsteele.com/vehicle-details/?show_vehicle=132242¤t_index=3&total_results=118&auction_pk=162&=&caryear=&caryearto=&search_text=&page=featured&showpage=1 Truly a clueless and useless profile of this car that barely even describes it.
Who ever did the photography deserves a pat on the back. It has an almost three dimension quality. Pretty cool.
Shot with a long telephoto lens, which has a narrow depth of field so the background is blurred. Or some kind of Photoshop which imitates it.
Gooding has added a 206 from a prominent collection of Ferrari's. Gooding: 1969 Ferrari Dino 206GT, #00378, Red/Black Estimate: $700,000 - $800,000 1969 Ferrari Dino 206 GT | Gooding & Company
Gooding sold this 206GT just two years ago at Amelia Island --> 1969 Ferrari Dino 206 GT (see also www.finecars.cc). I hope that in the meantime almost the "Cavallino" and the badge "Ferrari" in the rear side have been removed while the correct exhaust system has been installed.
Another Gooding Dino added. I'm anxious to see more pictures of this particular car because it may be the `distressed', not driven since 1985 white GTS I saw at my DB4 mechanic's shop a few weeks ago. If so, it'll be very interesting, but I'll hold my comments until then. Gooding: 1974 Ferrari Dino 246GT, #08236, White/Maroon? Estimate: $275,000 - $350,000, No Reserve 1974 Ferrari Dino 246 GTS | Gooding & Company
Just added; RM/Sotheby: 1974 Ferrari Dino 246 GTS, #08454, Green/Tan Daytona seats Estimate: None provided 1974 Ferrari Dino 246 GTS by Scaglietti | Arizona 2016 | RM Sotheby's
Met. Green car looks fantastic. Not overly keen on the piping on the seats and the tan center console, but it should do very well
RM/Sotheby adds another Dino to their roster. RM/Sotheby: 1970 Ferrari Dino 246 GT 'L-Series', #01040, Yellow/Black Estimate: None provided 1970 Ferrari Dino 246 GT 'L-Series' by Scaglietti | Arizona 2016 | RM Sotheby's Didn't realize you could get Ferrari red cam covers back during the L-Series...(sarcasm)
Bonham's now has its catalog available and they have (2) Dino's; 1972 FERRARI DINO 246 GT, #03315, Red/Dark Blue (ugh!) Estimate range: $350,000-400,000 Bonhams : 1972 FERRARI DINO 246 GT Chassis no. 03314 1972 FERRARI DINO 246 GT, #03152, Grigio Ferro Metallizzato/Black Daytona seats with red inserts Estimate range: $325,000-375,000 Bonhams : 1972 FERRARI DINO 246 GT Chassis no. 03152
So Gooding now has their full catalog up on their web site. This is in fact the Dino I saw at my mechanic's shop a while ago. It is the true definition of a basket case. The engine lid doesn't need a bracket to hold it up. The hinges are so shot, the lid will maintain any position along its travels. I was also told that the front boot lid was frozen shut and the hinges broke when they finally got it open. So anyone who acquires this will have to assume a very large amount of $$'s will be needed just to make it into a driver. Sounds like a job for OMGJON...
I felt the need to get one when I saw the car and tried to lift the engine lid. Now that I think of it, I didn't run to the bathroom to wash my hand! Oh, oh!
All I can say is good luck to whoever would buy this car for even the low estimate. There are so many nice Dino's on the market now, why pay a premium for one that needs everything. If this car sells for the low estimate the rest of us Dino owners can sleep pretty easy knowing that we must be sitting on a gold mine!!
RM has added 03580: 1973 Ferrari Dino 246 GT by Scaglietti | Arizona 2016 | RM Sotheby's This will be an interesting Dino to watch.
Freeman, I could never paint a Dino this color unless it was original spec, but honestly, this is one of my favorite colors for a Dino. It really accents curves and design. Shawn
