    This 71 Dino showed up at my shop. I'm not sure when all the customizing took place, but the owner wants it back to original!! Phase 1 is starting with the interior. I have to find original seats, change the floor, make door panels, redo the dash, eliminate all the yellow behind gauges etc, carpet, firewall etc etc. AS you can see major work is needed to bring the body back to original!! Also new tires and wheels in phase 1.

    So did I. If it was a Porsche it would be fine to customize. The Ferrari world doesn't go for it???

    I like it too, the way it is!

    Nice to see the conversion to single tail lights. Looks just right. Front end looks really good, too.

    The "back-to-original-at-any-price" movement has gone too far in my opinion. This type of modification actually celebrates the spirit of the Dino concept more than anything else. Sorry to see it go back to just another me-too, look-alike Dino. But that is just me. :- )

    As much as I love, respect and appreciate stock original, I think it's refreshing to see Dinos being enjoyed and to explore their performance potential. You are so right about the Porsche community. Porsche owners aren't afraid to explore the performance envelope or to tastefully personalize.

    The mouth on the Dino just needs a bit of radius on it's perimeter like the Drogo nose and a bit more crown on the headlamp covers to let the fender line flow through. Nice!

    I am with Tom and Mark. I like it the way it is. someone has gone to a lot of trouble to produce a slightly different Dino.There are some owners who are not fanatical about every little nut and bolt being as /or original. Nice car !

    The interior of this car will only benefit from being returned to stock, I think. A bare metal racing interior makes no sense for a car that is not being raced.

    The body modifications may also have been done for track or racing purposes, but they seem to further enhance the beauty and simplicity of the Dino design. If it had been my car, I would have restored the interior but kept the exterior modifications. (Well, maybe not the hood scopes.)
    But, of course, given the values of these cars it is completely understandable if the owner wants to return it to stock.

    Still, it is very nice to see pictures of a unique Dino like this.

    With all the positive responses I think the owner may be rethinking things and just do the interior. I think it would be a great choice. Why not have something a little unique!!!

    You can always change it back to original but I don't think many nowadays would take an original and make it look like this car. I wouldn't change the outside. I'd up the engine horsepower, re-do the interior and drive it like you just robbed a bank.

    My vote also to "original". If you did all this things, why install a "Design by Pininfarina" in
    the dashboard. The only good thing of the interior is that the yellow and black are the colors of my football racing team (Peñarol) here in Uruguay. Alvaro

    Agree. So many cool mods you can do to the motor/gearbox/brakes that will support what the body promises.

    A few years ago on a forum for Triumph motorcycles, someone posted pictures of his bike that he was customizing. There two groups of opinion. The first group felt that since it was his bike, he could do whatever he wanted. The second group felt that we had a responsibility to future generations to maintain the bikes as they left the factory. I was in the second group.

    Now this Dino looks very interesting, but it has been kustomized. It is obvious that a lot of time and money went into it. It is not the way that Enzo Ferrari wanted it. Do we owe anything to future generations to maintain our cars in the appearance that was wanted by Enzo Ferrari?
