    Hi all,

Can anyone please advise me when, if at all, the factory started fitting paint code stickers to the 246 and where exactly they were fitted on the car?

I have a 1972 car and the sticker supplier advises they are correct factory spec. However, I am also advised that 246 Dinos didn't have them, only being fitted on later cars and also that "Glasurit" stated on the sticker was not the paint supplier to the factory for Dinos.

Can anyone kindly clarify this small point for me please?
    Thanks!
    Chris.

I don't believe the factory installed color code stickers to 246GT Dinos.

There were no paint related stickers placed on Dino's from the factory.

Suggest to buy the book "Dino Compendium" authored and published by fchatter and Dino guru Matthias Bartz in Germany. Highly recommended.

One of the reasons a color change on a Dino is easier to do without anyone yelling, "FOUL, that's not the original color!!"

Unless, of course, they want to yank of an interior door panel.

When we repainted 04798, there was evidence it had been white, then blue and finally red. But, we also stripped the car clean and repainted everything, eliminating the search for the next guy who paints it.

However, we did leave a tiny bit of the original RED carpet behind the glovebox. :D
