Does anybody know where to find a NOS or used Dino fuel sender? Top looks like this one (not my pic but from the dino restoration site). Image Unavailable, Please Login
I think your best option is to rebuild it, the sensor can be replaced and recalibrated with the guage. I've not found an OEM source for these although there are FIAT sensors from the era which can be used for parts.
Ferrari 206 246 GT GTS Fuel Filler Sensor - Carburetors & Fuel Supply - Dino 246 GTS - Ferrari - Italian Cars is this it? It's not a part you see, so why care if it's NOS or used to match original appearance? Modern replacement will work, right? Is it a COST issue? D Image Unavailable, Please Login
Sorry I'm actually looking to use this on a BB but it shares the same part with the Dino... You see it on the BB and it's the first thing on the gas tank side when you open the clamshell... The one I have has been bastardized with a DOT return line? welded on. And it's not like the one shown in the picture, that is a generic part which was on Eurospares for 50UKP but recently they increased to almost 200UKP.
A-ha!! then I'd try Dennis McCann's old hangout. Tom Vail's All Ferrari Parts, Ferrari Spares, Vintage Parts or the guys at GT parts? GT Car Parts Used and new parts - no website (623) 780-2200 GL. D
I doubt they'll have it, I tried... The pic is a modern replacement using an oe style top so you can't tell. Good option I think. I re-plated the original top but had everything below replaced and calibrated.
I have tried GTCP in the past they didn't have it... I need the top only as well, mine has been modified. See attached. Image Unavailable, Please Login
Oh dear. Most other FIAT fuel senders with this style of lid have the built-in pickup so finding a new top that doesn't need modification is tough. I'd strip it, weld up the hole, have it replated and put in a modern sender.
I have also been on the lookout for a NOS fuel sender for 3 years with no luck. I have installed an aftermarket one that works fine, but I have kept the old one for rebuild as mentioned above using the old restored top and changing out the sensor. This is a perfect winter project. Regards Peter
That top can most likely be fixed. You have to plate it anyway, so removing that pipe and welding in a piece of metal should be feasible....great winter project.....-
